Greed is poison. Scarcity is a capitalized myth. Creation is beautiful. We are our own worst enemy and greatest advocate. Information wants to be free. Gender, sexuality, race, and religion do not supersede humanity.

Because rest is good. And necessary. And this girl has been hustling a lot for a good long time. As Lorde says "it's time to slow it down; whatever that means." 4/end
Something that is closer to my heart and something with daily evidence of impact - public librarianship. But, today, before that next train leaves the station, I'll spend some time with my master gardener colleagues making pine cone birdfeeders at a local festival. And then...I'll do nothing. 3/
And the lead up to the beginning of my new chapter as youth librarian in a branch of our local public library. It's been about a decade since I was super hands on with this type of librarianship, and I'm excited and nervous. And I'm tired of the transition from administration and software to... 2/
I'm looking forward to that time when I can remove "transition period" from my description of life. This past week has been the final wind down of my time as a contractor and significant contributor in my open-source community of practice, a hella lotta teaching responsibilities... 1/
Sometimes, your performance improvement plan gets lit. It will be interesting for him to "not see" the point and "not see" himself as a major leader of problems.

This is "he spelled potato wrong" level shit.
i cannot believe that “mamdani calls a close adult relative an ‘aunt’ even if they are not literally their parent’s sister” is what counts as a “scandal” these days
If RFK Jr. and the HHS don't get sued by Johnson and Johnson, I'll begin to question the moral arc of the universe.

I am preemptively filled with gratitude to the generations upon generations who will invoke RFK Jr.'s name with loathing and disdain until he is forgotten outright.

Even if the House was fully functional, they're in session for an avg of 147 days and out for 218.

Under Speaker Johnson, Congress has been in session only 12 of the last 97 days, and he still won't swear in Representative-elect Adelita Grijalva.

These are the people who demand Work Requirements.😐
Dafug is this guy even talking about? If you're a democrat, you hate cars?
Just throwing this unoriginal but very important idea out there - ICE needs to be completely disbanded. Not defunded (well, yes - that too). It needs to be obliterated. Those who chose to take jobs with that agency need to answer for that for the rest of their careers. They are fascist enforcers.

So they didn’t like the ad. Let’s just post Reagan’s 5 min speech against tariffs as it appears on YouTube.

Over and over. On all platforms (some of y’all are still on X).

In Gary, Indiana this morning—

Community members have gathered in protest of ongoing ICE flights.

This small, sleepy airport is where many captives from the Chicago area detention center are transported (frequently in the middle of the night) as the next step in the deportation pipeline.

A friend recently told me that they didn’t think ICE would deploy tear gas in well to do neighborhoods with a high density of white people. I understood their thinking, but disagreed. Today, they gassed Lakeview. Nothing is off limits to these people.
Get rid of Mike Johnson. Now. Get Congress working again. Now. Begin impeachment proceedings against Trump and his entire cabinet right now. Otherwise, the next step is going to be a military coup, and then we will have civil war. That's what's next.

For the record, $130 million is almost literally a tiny drop in the bucket. The U.S. military payroll biweekly is some $23 billion (the latest budget request is $600 billion). This ostensible gift amounts to a bit more than 0.5% of the biweekly payroll.
Hey, just want to mumble that this is wildly illegal and inappropriate and would prompt impeachment proceedings if we still had a functional Congress instead of one run by a blind, deaf and mute Renfeld wannabe.
New: The Pentagon confirms to CNN it will funnel $130M from an anonymous Trump “friend” toward military pay.

Asked about the donor’s identity and any foreign or domestic entanglements, the WH referred questions to DoD. DoD then referred questions back to the WH

With millions at risk of losing SNAP in the coming days, a reminder: hunger doesn't happen in isolation. When food assistance disappears, families use rent money to eat. Then come evictions and homelessness.

Housing, food, healthcare—it's all connected. Cut one thread and the whole thing unravels.
I mean, the president could also play "dress up and act like a human being with care for other human beings" along with "how to be a leader with integrity and not a smash and grab wannabe mafioso cum pedophile nepobaby." These are fun games. I've heard. If we're playing games.
MORNING JOE: Are you comfortable with Trump's bailout of Argentina?

SEN. ROGER MARSHALL: The president here is playing chess and not checkers. This is an opportunity to make a friend, to help an ally out.
Ugh. And the PoS “not my man Mitch” gets some kind of redemption arc now? No.
Ex-Gov Mitch Daniels is the only high-profile Republican I’ve seen, thus far, who is publicly offering support to Republican members of the state Senate who don’t want to participate in Trump’s efforts to rig the midterms by redrawing congressional boundaries in a way that predetermines the results:

With Universal Healthcare and Universal Basic Income, small businesses and the arts would flourish in this country as never before. People could choose meaningful work over drudgery. We would protect the nation from the coming AI storm.

It would be a Renaissance.

Holy shit! That motherfucker TORE DOWN THE WHITE HOUSE!
This morning I was completely filled with rage. I’m still so angry about my friend being laid off. I’m beyond describing my emotions as they relate to the events in this country and this world. And so I laser etched this image by Cupcake Alchemist onto watercolor paper and inked it with ink pencils.
Our impotent legislature, complicity supreme court, and overtly illegal and purposefully destructive administration are setting the stage for even more atrocities visited upon the people of the United States. 3/3
The status of approximately 750,000 federal employees who are either furloughed or working without pay (yes, that's a thing) even as SNAP benefits have been paused nationally literally means that our broken federal government is starving people. 2/
