Intro post? Okay.

I'm Rob! I've been on a Transformers podcast for 15 years and have been YouTubing for 11 or 12 I think. I mostly cover Gundam games these days, especially #GBO2, and love robot toys and models as well as action figures in general. I'm cranky when people get hurt for fun & profit.
robflails.bsky.social
The older I get the more important it is to me that transforming an action figure not be an afternoon's work.
robflails.bsky.social
I also got Micronus Prime today, and he may be kludgey and weird and could probably have been done better at a higher price point, but I love toys with upgrade armor and he doesn't hurt my fingers or take half an hour to transform, so he hits all the notes I need him to.

Luttig has it right here: “[T]he Supreme Court has given them no choice but to speak out.”
leahlitman.bsky.social
More judges speak to the press (the NYT) about what a disaster the Supreme Court (specifically the shadow docket) has been - “incredibly demoralizing & troubling”; a “judicial crisis”; a “slap in the face to district courts.” www.nytimes.com/2025/10/11/u...

This is happening right now, to a friend of mine in Chicago. This is a peaceful area, with no previous unrest or crime problem. Just people trying to live their lives. My heart hurts. They're having conversations no family should have to have.
A white box with text. "Y'all. They're tear gassing my neighborhood. Right by the place we get hummus from. Right by where we get the extra large pizzas for sleep overs. Tell your people."

And that's the 4" MU/MCU stuff sorted. As predicted, There's a bunch of big guys, cape guys, and big cape guys who don't fit this container, so there's more left in the older bins this time than with Star Wars.

Is it more space efficient? Maybe just a tiny bit! Do I like it more? Hell yes!

Still, one of those for me, a G2 Megatron for Jay, and six Core figures for Toys For Tots for $40, so I'm satisfied.
robflails.bsky.social
Core Class Optimus Prime is a fine little guy. Honestly, handling 2 different riffs on G1 Toy Optimus Prime in the past year has just convinced me that he was perfect and the only way to improve on him is with integrated hands and extra articulation. Everything else is just overcomplicating things.

So that makes at least 4 J6ers creeping on PDX ICE protests.

Fulfer, David Medina, Katie Daviscourt & Quincey Franklin.

It's been surreal watching them all code switch to calling anti-ICE protestors "insurrectionists" as soon as they realized it was the magic police state button.

Far-right asshole Josh Fulfer, who called for vehicular assaults on Portland protestors, has come up from California & is filming on the ground tonight.

There's no "regular politics" anymore because you can no longer maintain the idea that we all agree on common goals but we only differ about the means of getting there or whatever. The guys in charge now are plainly amoral, sadistic nihilists. They delight in it! You can't civilly disagree with that

I think execs misunderstood when people were saying that Jared Leto lures in teens.

‘TRON: ARES’ has earned $14.3M in its opening day at the domestic box office.

For comparison, ‘MORBIUS’ opened to $17.3M.

This makes so much sense about Treehouse of Horror. Still, you’d think they’d at least cash in on horror movies that have only recently become cult hits. Spirit Halloween has given a lot of overlooked movies a second life, like Halloween 3, Killer Klowns, and Trick r Treat. Simpsons could do that.
formergregsamsa.bsky.social
It takes about 2 years for them to write and animate and one of the reasons why 'golden years' Simpsons works so well is because it tool about 2 years for the movies they were parodying to hit video stores. Now with streaming there is no way to keep up.

It’s so funny how every time Jared Leto does his method acting in a film, the director and crew have to go out of their way to be like “woah it was so intense, he was so in character, it added so much depth” and then you watch the film and he’s giving the most lazy, no-thought performance possible
"I do address him as Ares when we're filming and everybody goes, we get a little bit up. He's the general walking onto set, which is fine," Ares director Joachim Ronning recently told Screenrant. "And it's not
uncommon for actors to do it like that.
And it works for him. And I think you can feel it in any movie he makes. He's completely into the character."

"10-4" isn't a sign-off; it's a 10 code, which means "I've received you clearly." It's an acknowledgement.

It's also no longer in use in most radio coms.

What jargon does media get wrong in a way that's jarring for you?

"Stat" doesn't just means fast, it means "there is a life-threatening circumstance and I need this to solve it." Nothing in a morgue is 'stat,' just 'asap.'

On a ship, "aye" means "yes." "Aye-aye" means "heard, and I will comply."

Still honestly quite pleased that I got through a pair of weekend-after-Thanksgiving flights and some busy restaurants in CA without catching anything a couple years back. Let us hope lightning can strike twice.

So my dad went to the memorial brunch for my uncle.

He didn't wear a mask, but "nobody was coughing or anything."

I'm honestly not even mad. I knew he was going to have brunch at a buffet, which is hard to do masked. It's why I bought COVID tests.

Hell, I did the same when I got to visit Bandai.

One thing I've figured out many years later than I should have is "A person is free if they want to be" is a moral constructed by a person who has no spouse, no children, no real property, and no medical conditions to speak of. And they're still exaggerating their willingness to be fucking shot.

As I said before, I have a very hard time blaming nonvoters for all this, because I see a lot of nonvoters as being people like me who told their party or former party "You know, if you don't take this seriously it's gonna be very bad" for years and were told to shut up and go away, so they did.

Oh good, looks like they AI'd the Mega Man Star Force collection.
