as a heads up for my new followers:

i post about heavily political stuff alongside the science and gaming. if you are uncomfortable with that, please mute/block me

i won't be offended. i'm not owed your attention, and your comfort online matters too

it's not a "bad" game, it's just too much for the hardware to handle, which produces a very disjointed gameplay experience where the action combat is incredibly start-and-stop

pretty game, interesting that it's 3 interwoven stories, great music, but as a video game it really isn't "good" either
rhacodactylus.bsky.social
going to catch some heat for this, but given (a) if i think a game is actually bad i stop playing it and (b) i routinely don't finish even games i do like, the worst game i've ever finished/rolled credits on is...

Trials of Mana / Seiken Densetsu 3. the original super famicom/SNES version
lexluddy.xyz
What's the worst game you finished/rolled credits on?

(games media folks, it can't be something you were assigned to review; this has to be something you subjected yourself to of your own free will)

I’m very very tired of “living in fear” being lobbed at maskwearers by people who frequently say they can’t wear one because no one else around them is.

Living in fear is ignoring science and endangering lives and your own health because you’re terrified of not fitting in.

some ostensibly smart people in the field talk about an AI alignment problem; that the AI don't end up behaving in a way that represents the values or goals of the people who made them

and every time i hear it, i can only think that yes, yes they do. very well in fact. and that's the real problem

i know it's a strong stance, but i'm of the opinion that every person working to advance "artificial intelligence" in the public sphere is stuck in a perpetual state of rage and embarrassment at having had any girl or woman ever in their entire life tell them "no"

If you're relishing the prospect of marginalised people dying because they live in a geographical area where more people voted right wing than left wing, consider whether you might not be a very good person.

i genuinely despise every person who said opposing genocide was purity testing and have realized them as simply never having a thought worth taking seriously ever again

Frustrating to still see smug liberal types mocking people for saying "don't sign up for protests" when this shit is happening.

Reminder for those attending 50501 SoCal’s No Kings protest this Saturday. The organizers have a history of coordinating with LAPD pigs ahead of their parades. Here’s communication between the 50501 SoCal founders and LAPD regarding last April’s protest.

gonna disagree with the other posters referencing ff6. as much as i love that game, i don't think kefka fits here. this feels much more like breath of fire 2 and habaruku

access journalism and social media were the one-two combo that destroyed so much journalism and reporting. it allowed for environments to flourish across mainstream outlets that all one needed to do was read twitter and repeat without commentary or fact-checking what people say

always a bit of a trip when i remember learning that for centuries, until about the mid to late 1800s, european doctors routinely prescribed eating dead human flesh (mostly mummified remains) as a treatment for various ailments

desecrating the dead is a very "white culture" thing

can i just say that i am reallllllllllly uncomfortable with all the not-so-subtle gesturing towards the idea that the american government in fact is and has been run by foreign jews?

every time a liberal talks about "horseshoe theory" you can guarantee that what has actually happened is they've looked at two right wing figures and mistaken one of them for a leftist.

'look at all the ways tucker carlson's beliefs overlap with glenn greenwald! horseshoe theory strikes again!!'

aside from thinking about the old phone numbers i still remember, i thought about what else from the 80s and 90s i remember accurately and aside from addresses i ended up thinking of a lot of commercials, which led me to go watch ProZD's genuinely epic sketch again

revisiting this just now was brought on by seeing multiple people repost and quote post that one post of a screenshot from reddit where some whipper-snapper asked if people used to really memorize phone numbers before the days of cell phones or if that was just a tv thing

it's a testament to how vital the idea of stasis is to conservative thought. from the century(ies) of the exact same eugenicist arguments about non-whites and disabled people to the exact same whining about how "no one wants to work anymore", nothing about conservative ideology has ever changed

Reading Thiel, Yarvin, Peterson et al. makes you realise what passes for intellectual iconoclasm these days is all absolute bollocks. Why anyone gives any of these people the time of day let alone credibility is baffling.
