RCMP training is six months. CBSA officer training is 14 weeks. It will take time and budget allocations to scale both up to hire a thousand officers each.
But tell me again that it's a failure and a broken promise that it didn't happen over the summer.

Prime Minister Carney’s Public Safety minister is responsible for the Canadian Border.

He promised to hire 1,000 new border guards, but hasn’t gotten it done, so illegal weapons and drugs keep flooding into our country.
