Hey, I know everything’s tight, but Rob was a great advocate for our #ttrpg community, a fine game writer himself, and has sadly left his family behind in the capitalist hellscape. I’ve given a bit and ask you to consider it if you can.

Dad used to moan about how I hadn't grown out of Doctor Who. I now get paid to write about it, so when I visit him I wear Dalek socks.

Hrm, that's interesting. And I can see the temptation to avoid moving to AI nonsense.

Yeah, very likely. Of course, this is a small indie publisher, so the occasional editing gaff and formatting quirk is going to happen, but in general I find the epubs to be quite servicable.

I have been loving these. I mean, of course I'm going to read a parody of Doctor Who as a masked luchador scientist in 1970, but there's a lot of love and fun in these stories. Even though I opted for the ebook versions, I'm glad these are now in print!

Oh, I'm sure. As a historical artifact, I'm sure it's fascinating. But me and my friends got erased from the story because we refused to suck up to a sex offender, so I'm a bit salty.

Oh cool, now I can ignore it on a whole new platform!

Rob Wieland's first email to me was on Sat, Oct 21, 2006, asking to get the PDF of Spirit of the Century to go with his physical-copy purchase.

There since the beginning.

Wish he could've been there until the end.
Cover of Fate Worlds Volume 2: Worlds in Shadow, featuring cover art taken from Rob Wieland's contribution to this book, the amazing King-Arthur-in-Mech-Suits CAMELOT Trigger setting. Armored mech-knights suit up to face the robotic horde led by the giant-floating-head MerGN-A! In this interior image from CAMELOT Trigger, we get a closer look at the giant floating head MerGN-A as her mouth opens to disgorge endless flying robots. Writing credit:

It’s a real blow to see the news of Rob Wieland’s passing. A true original who has supported small indie designers for years, including me and my games. Love and peace to his family and everyone else grieving today.
