Tried the new Star Trek Voyager demo today. Before I tried the demo I was like "oh that's a cool concept for a game, I'm excited for that". Now I'm VERY excited for that.

In leaked Gamefreak documents Pokemon gen 8 was originally going to be prehistoric themed and wait a second, thats my old T. rex artwork?? What the hell thats so cool???

Screenshot of design documents for Pokemon gen 8 discussing prehistoric animals. To the side there is a small squished version of my old fluffy T. rex drawing used to demonstrate the animal for this document. I have no idea why this specific rex I did took off but it was never meant to be an accurate one even at the time, folks just latched onto it and it haunts me.

I sincerely believe that if you gave the five most lofty literary novelists the ability to write novelisations of, say, star wars, with absolutely no creative restrictions or directional guidance whatsoever besides a note saying "go nuts," we would get actual great art

2) the stories that are well-known enough for anyone to want to novelise now are films and video games, so we are not "allowed" to rewrite their stories, even though retelling stories in our own voices is the oldest art form and second oldest profession.
