As my dad has often said, it's not bad enough yet.

I would add, nobody cares about injustice on a visceral level unless it affects them personally.

My dad's been trying to sell the world on a framework for economic justice since 1962. At 95, he's never quit.

Everyone’s talking about Steve Bannon saying Trump will be president in 2028. But here’s the point most are missing: He’s openly floating treason and civil war.

“Seizing institutions and purging them.” Isn’t rhetoric, it’s a test to see how far Trump’s followers will go.

Nobody is talking about the cancerous growth of a standing federal police force without congressional appropriations. Let Congress do it's job.
Imagine if we did this but instead of paying people to racially profile and terrorize communities and grab mostly innocent people we did it for teachers
Impunity implies the force available to carry it out. The suspension of habeas corpus and creation of a federal police force without congressional appropriations is antithetical to our constitutional precedents. We need to make the #FelonKing unpresidented because of his unprecedented abuses.

Reagan's approach to the world prominently featured two things:

1) Russian aggression bad, Western democratic alliance good
2) Free trade good, tariffs and other barriers to trade bad

Pretending it's the opposite is the sort of reality inversion only someone who rejects truth itself could buy.

When ICE comes to Philly it’s going to be brutal
Portland resists with whimsical improv theater, Chicago resists by screaming at weird jagoffs that don’t belong in the neighborhood. Every city brings its own strengths to the fight
The energy we need is this suburban dad standing out in the street -- barefoot with Blackhawks pajama pants on -- screaming at the masked goons to get the fuck out of their neighborhood.

The Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB) is actively helping federal employees and contractors impacted by the shutdown. We’ll be making a $5,000 donation to help. If you have anything extra to give, please consider donating to them or to a local food bank near you, every bit helps! 🙏

He sends them into blue cities, he uses them to blow up what he claims are drug-running boats in international waters—and now he pays them, he says, on his own authority. This is a dangerous argument that the troops work not for us but for him. www.thebulwark.com/p/time-to-sh...

The President has immunity.

Now Stephen Miller is telling ICE they have federal immunity while “fulfilling their duties”.

We have a dictator with a secret police force and both have immunity from prosecution.

This is fascism.

They can and will do whatever they want.
The prestidigitation is very deceptive.
Not surprisingly, most of the U.S. tariffs are being paid by American companies and consumers — NOT by foreign exporters.

These guys get $50k signing bonuses.

Stephen Miller is telling them they have immunity and encouraging them to create chaos.

They get almost no training, many couldn’t pass an open book exam & they’re allowed to hide their faces.

They’re swinging assault rifles around in public.

Abolish ICE
We need to be talking about the social contract every day. We are at an election of 1860 style inflection point. Fascism is a sanitized version of slavery. The deconstruction of constitutional protections combined with amplified powers of a unitary executive have nullified the social contract.
“As so much has been dismantled, we are reminded that our social compact as a nation and people is based on the power of ideas and beliefs to bind us. If these ideas lose their power, then it’s not hard to see how our nation unravels.”

The scope is growing: Trump is now calling for the criminal prosecutions of perceived political foes Christopher Wray, Jack Smith, Merrick Garland, and Lisa Monaco — mischaracterizing records and falsely claiming they'd rigged the 2020 election.
The illiteracy rates of students who enter middle schools would shock you.
The question of "why do people vote against their self-interest" is pretty self-explanatory when you look up the literacy rate in local schools.

We have high schools with a literacy rate of 32%.

Thirty-two percent...
