In other words CNN is going to become state media.

Trump will have essentially destroyed CBS, Washington Post, and CNN as credible news outlets before his term is up.

CZ pleaded guilty to a criminal money laundering charge and was sentenced to prison.

But then he financed President Trump’s stablecoin and lobbied for a pardon.

Today, he got it.

If Congress does not stop this kind of corruption, it owns it.
Oof, all three of these are bleak. Not good enough to make the playoffs, too good for a relevant draft pick.

Elon in 2025: we're designing the hardware around the shortcomings of software, isn't that a novel approach?

the president has destroyed the east wing of the white house without so much as a word of input from anyone else to build a royal ballroom paid for with bribes
NEW: After The Washington Post reported Monday on the demolition of the "East Wing facade," a new picture obtained by Law Dork that was taken on Tuesday shows that a substantial portion of the entirety of the East Wing has been demolished.

Very possibly no political official in history has made so much corrupt money at a pace like this. Mobutu and Marcos looted a greater share of their countries’ wealth over decades but in absolute terms and in speed, Trump shamelessly puts them to shame.
“.. no modern American president has positioned his family to make so much money while in the White House. Already, since the early days of his reelection campaign, he’s more than doubled his net worth to about $5.4 billion.”

I'll bet it's off the major front pages by Thu.
Not sure I can get excited about the idea that the games count now.

Oh nooooo, Lindsey Halligan, this is not how any of this works

When change comes again to Congress and the White House, we’re going to have to lock a lot of these people up for the laws they’re breaking today. People need to die in cells for this if we want to have any hope of preventing future GOP admins from doing the same.
Trump: "I'm allowed as you know as president, like 50% of the presidents have used the Insurrection Act. Everybody agrees you're allowed to use that and there is no more court cases, there is no more anything. We're trying to do it in a nicer manner, but we can always use the Insurrection Act."
Nah, at this point they’re Nazis.
I’m not saying they’re Nazis. I’m saying being a Nazi isn’t a deal-breaker for them. I’m saying at a minimum they’re Good Germans.

It's less than 24 hours after 5-8 million Americans marched against a president who called them domestic terrorists, and there is zero reference to it on the current NYT home page, except for a Bouie op/ed that came out several days earlier.

Don’t let the frogwater that’s boiling us alive let you skip over this: we murdered another country’s citizens in cold blood, and when their leader objected, we called him a drug dealer and cut off aid to his country. That’s freakish.
Petro objected to the US bombing a Columbian fishing vessel that had the emergency beacon on because they were broken down, that we subsequently bombed. One Columbian fisherman survived the attack.

This is the official US response to Petro's comments.

Again, it is a full-blown federal felony crime for anyone in the White House or Executive Office of the President to order tax investigations into anyone.

And it's not just a crime to DO it, it's even a federal crime for an employee not to REPORT such an order to the Treasury Inspector General.

Feels quaint, almost cliché, to say this about a Trump action, but just for the record:

This is all illegal, the President can't simply disregard the laws passed and agencies created by Congress, and both Vought & Trump would be impeached if the Constitution or the rule of law mattered to the GOP.
FFS, that’s not how any of this works. His memo didn’t expand shit. Christ, you’re useless as a news org.

The New York Times should hire someone who understands how laws work.
President Trump on Wednesday signed a memorandum expanding his administration’s authority to repurpose unspent federal funds to pay members of the military during the government shutdown, escalating his challenge to the authority of Congress on spending matters.
Trump Signs Memo Expanding His Authority to Spend Federal Money
The president gave Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth wide authority to repurpose funds to pay members of the military without approval from Congress, which has the sole constitutional authority to decide federal spending.

Nelson and KBJ are finally to the point where they're arguing thta the 15th Amendment doesn't have a *time limit* and the Voting Rights Act is just the mechanism to make the 15th Amendment work.

Brett and Amy don't actually think the 15th Amendment should be made to work so...

It’s important to understand what Republicans mean by this I think.

They mean no one gets any accommodation so if the state is oppressing black voters and privileging white voters, that’s like a natural state and attempts to fix that are UNEQUAL.
Kavanaugh: "I want to note some common ground bc I think it's important in disputes like this one to identify common ground. Justice Jackson said the goal is equal opportunity for all Americans & I think we all agree on that, completely"
