You wouldn't say "Person who has queerness" like-- being marginalized by society is a reflection on *society's* failures but being queer or [insert examples here] is fine and a part of who someone is, always, is not the totality of who they are, etc etc. There's nothing *wrong* with being disabled.

All I can add to the “we reject universal masking” discourse is that it’s not about masks. You aren’t rejecting universal masking, which never happened; you’re rejecting having to think about wearing a mask, and maybe feeling badly about thinking about masks. Can’t help you there.

Most people still operate on a virtue theory of disease (even those who can recite the germ theory thereof.)

We don’t wash our hands because everyone has internalized the germ theory, but because mass public relations has tied hand washing to virtue.

There is no effort to tie masks to virtue.

I have long believed that we should be WAY more vocal about how police and ICE constantly murder dogs, and I think this is great messaging actually.

The reality is that you can mobilize a whole lot of usually tuned-out Americans around a “someone is being mean to hecking doggos” cause.
