Reading a job posting at the theological seminary to see if it might be of interest to share with a friend, and even though it 100% makes sense for this job, "excavation experience" is killing me.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

The Director of the Kelso Museum of Near Eastern Archaeology should be a thoughtful and
inquisitive scholar who demonstrates both academic excellence and a deep respect for the
cultures, peoples, and histories represented in the Museum's collections. This individual should
model curiosity, care, and integrity in preserving and interpreting the artifacts entrusted to the

Just cycled through maybe every language I have ever studied even slightly, trying to remember how to thank my Spanish speaking Lyft driver. I hope he enjoyed whatever unholy mix of grazie and 谢谢 I emitted while trying to get to gracias, with my brain simultaneously going danke? merci??

Knowing the people involved, MOST of this is just like "how hanging out with our friends used to go" except the DMB groupie part.

Although I might prefer that to another friend's (short-lived) romance which lives on in our hearts for her vehemence that "noir" and "camp" were identical concepts.

Me: struggling to recall what I last read that wasn't either danmei or the Liz Gilbert murder memoir.

(I am actually reading a novel I'd be perfectly happy to admit to reading, but in the moment my mind went blank.)

A thing I've learned on this trip is so many of my colleagues are workplace huggers. I've been hugged more by coworkers in the last 24 hours than in the entirety of my prior work life.

They're lovely, they're treating me so kindly, but I have never felt more like a standoffish Northeasterner. 😂
