A big day for Sasha, first there were deer, then grocery delivery came, went away, and then came *back* and replaced the groceries with other groceries! And the birds have finally figured out how to use the new feeder! So much excitement! He's exhausted from window supervision and it's only 10:30.

Stayed up past bedtime to finish book 4 of Qiang Jin Jiu. It was twelve chapters of a trade war over the price of rice, and then in the final chapter a new cat was introduced to the plot. I am entirely satisfied.

As per usual I set out to mail order some proper NY latkes and bagels for December, and SOMEHOW ended up with many more things than that in my cart. I am not god’s strongest soldier when babka is on the line.
