Fuentes went on Red Scare and Dave Smith's podcasts this week — he's getting closer and closer to "heterodox" normalcy.
Nick Fuentes says the leaked Young Republican chats prove that "everyone's a groyper now," but they have to do a better job of hiding their real views: "These guys were doing a great thing ... The mistake that they made is that they were sloppy." www.peoplefor.org/rightwingwat...

My pain point is church. "AI wrote a sermon in no time!" No, AI plagiarized other pastors' sermons. "AI made a song!" No, AI stole from artists. "We can make website videos from our still photos!" No, we are not deepfaking the choir.

AND it's an Earth Care congregation so let's talk resource use...

it's been shoved into so many things that people genuinely see it on the same level as wordart or clip art: what's the big deal? it's making me a little picture that I can put in my newsletter. look, it made my granddaughter a princess! how pretty

having returned to the workplace and being around the general public recently has shown me that there are a vast number of people who are completely unaware of the problems with using generative AI, or even the fact that there are problems with it

One of the places tech went wrong was making product management a profit center
Truly astounding. Whole product philosophy books could be written on this
"All the data that we see is when people use voice, they love it," says Mehdi.
Some of that data is the billions of minutes that people spend talking in Microsoft Teams meetings.

This is actually really important. 25 years ago, very few kids in my area went to college and curriculum & advising reflected/reinforced that. The push for teaching “AI skills” seems purpose built to undermine teaching critical thinking to non-elite students—it’s fundamentally undemocratic.
My high school absolutely taught Excel, I was Microsoft certified on it and the whole office suite, as a 15-year-old.
You know what tool existed when I was in high school that no one ever taught me how to use? Excel. A thing I use all the time now, mostly self-taught, existed in the late 1990s and no one was upending the curriculum to make sure I knew how to use it.

And of course, administrators will force it on people because they don't actually care about jobs being done well, just faster/cheaper, but I still think it's worth it to stop helping them gaslight you about the utility of this tool in your work.

I was with a panel of people who were all making good arguments about why AI will never replace this or that skill or job, so maybe we'll be okay, and I finally said to one teacher: "you can just say no. you don't have to use it. it steals from people and teaches no skills. it's not a good tool."

Teaching students “AI prompt engineering” is such an offensive perversion of inquiry based education it makes me breathe fire.
genuinely what the fuck is an "ai skill" that isn't basic reading comprehension, skepticism, the ability to evaluate sources, and, like, typing?

I'll never forget that newscycle when the old OpenAI board made it clear Altman was a predatory little opportunistic shit with bottomless financial conflicts of interests, and the tech press rallied around him to frame all of the people with complaints as weird fringe zealots

"it's not my job to have morals and ethics"

"Wow, what do you call that act?"

"The Altruists!"
Altman is weakening the already flimsy ethical guardrails on their unregulated bullshit machine to goose engagement

he lied, claimed it was really because they'd fixed ChatGPT's mental health issues, then when he gets pushback he's like "it's not my job to have morals and ethics"
Sam Altman says OpenAI isn't 'moral police of the world' after erotica ChatGPT post blows up
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said his company is "not the elected moral police of the world" after receiving backlash over his decision to allow erotica on ChatGPT.

The thing about Nazis is their speech is all hate speech, all of it, not free speech, because Nazism is predicated on violence and contemporary Nazism is predicated on knowing about genocide and approving of it and wanting to do it again.
