I know pointing out hypocrisy doesn't really do anything, but I remember that Top Gear had a running gag where Jeremy would mock his co-host Richard Hammond for having his teeth whitened.
Is he for or against aesthetic dental work?
I've got lots of things to say about Jeremy Clarkson.

Really not worth it. He knows his game is over and so is resorting to personal attacks.

Piss him off instead and

@hivefleethodag.bsky.social is back, for the proto-football games of English fancy-boy schools: one renowned for how badly the ball sucks, one whose name ("Winkies") is the most normal part of its terminology, and one whose headmaster had to excise "a bizarre sexual ritual."

Cities develop unique cultures and this is an important part of the story of protests in Portland at the moment
What The Hell Is Going On, a thread:

I’ve seen some thinkpieces and posts about Portland protests that fail to understand the long-term hyperspecificity of Portland culture/humor, and frame it as a sort of shitposting meme-pilled ironic thing. Which is wrong.

So I’m gonna give you my breakdown.

The whole bit about guys who were objectively doing fine but still felt slighted by a world that didn't flatter them enough was depressingly familiar
The story that leave voters/ the leave campaign and reform tell themselves and each other is based on a misunderstanding of British history
1/3 There’s a strong relationship between Reform / far right support and the Brexit Leave constituency. A continuation of the refusal to accept that Britain is poorer and more unequal not due to immigration but because it is no longer subsidised by an Empire. theconversation.com/brexit-how-t...

When we posted this a couple of weeks ago, we had some AI enthusiasts insist that this diagram was the result of poor prompting, or that the prompt that the original poster made was to generate a funny, bad diagram. So we decided to test ChatGPT's capability...
Today in AI Is Not A Good Source For Learning About The World's Most Misunderstood Body Part, meet this ChatGPT gem.

Funnily enough, we're actually going to talk about how most of this is kinda sorta right (for small values of right), as a cautionary tale about generative AI.

Huge thanks to the Irish Independent for covering this, (I've just seen a BBC article about a musician this has happened to). For readers, the solution is to buy real books in independent bookshops, a win win for everyone and a lose for the scammers. If you prefer ebooks, be very careful out there 🤯

more print, local print, traditional publishers, self-made, all of it.
Counterpoint: There is has never been a more urgent time to write a book. Technofascism is, among other things, an attempt to capture and enclose literature and literacy. Print is a rent strike.
is there anything more pointless right now that writing a book? feels that way to me
