Sen. Rand Paul: “what were their names” and “what was the evidence linking them to being part of a gang?”
“The Coast Guard, when they interdict boats, … about 25% of the time the boat that they board doesn’t have drugs on it. So they have made an error, but they don’t kill them.”
US strikes another alleged drug-carrying boat off Venezuela coast
The strike marks the fifth deadly strike on an alleged drug-carrying vessel in the region.

There's literally no reason for Congress to exist if any random freak in the presidential orbit can nullify laws and seize federal funds. All of this is plainly illegal, but Mike Johnson leads the most corrupt Congress in US history (and by a wide margin.)

The Supreme Court's Republican appointees sound ready to transform the 14th and 15th Amendments into a weapon against the very racial minorities they were meant to protect—handing Republicans 15-19 additional House seats in the process. A disaster for democracy.
slate.com/news-and-pol...
Is it racist to remedy racism? That’s the question at the heart of Callais v. Louisiana, which the Supreme Court heard on Wednesday. The case asks whether the Voting Rights Act gives Black Louisianans too much political power—and if so, whether the landmark law violates the Constitution. Unsurprisingly, the Republican-appointed justices seem eager to rule that it does. Throughout oral arguments, they suggested the VRA protects minority voters too effectively, dragging the government into race-conscious considerations that offend the equal protection rights of the white voters who sued in this case. And they floated various ways to gut what remains of the statute by twisting it beyond recognition or striking it down altogether. The result would be a windfall for Republicans, who stand to gain at least 19 seats in the House of Representatives if the Supreme Court frees them to gerrymander Black communities into oblivion. Such a decision would also devastate minority representation in Congress, eliminating up to 30 percent of the Congressional Black Caucus.

So much easier for right-wing aligned media owners to discount the perspective of the majority of the country by focusing on the right-wing minority in the rural heartland

Years later and I have the exact same argument I did when I first started getting into politics. Why did the "heartland of America" being Republican become the center of all political thought according to Media outlets. I don't get how Ohio is more important than New York.

This delay is not procedural, it is intentional. Speaker Johnson is doing everything in his power to shield this administration from accountability.

Apropos of nothing, once the President of the United States confirms covert CIA operations in a country… say, Venezuela, those operations are no longer covert.

And it puts CIA officers at significantly more risk.

Really important that we don't become numb to the President designating unspecified groups as terrorists who he can just kill without any process and without much evidence that the allegations against the unknown people are even actually true.

Trump found another $20 BILLION to give to Argentina, totaling their bailout to $40 BILLION.

Yet we can’t afford to prevent millions of Americans from losing their healthcare.

Shame.

Boyle: Mike Johnson and House Republicans have decided to do their own version of quiet quitting — they canceled session three weeks ago, they canceled session two weeks ago, and they’ve now canceled it last week and this week.

There is clearly no strategy there other than pure, sheer laziness

the president using the office to punish americans that didnt vote for him should really be one of the biggest scandals in americas history

Trump is upfront in saying he will use the shutdown to punish Democrats, and here are the receipts. About $27.2 billion cut from Dem districts compared to about $0.7 billion in GOP districts.
We all complain about the media, but need this type of in-depth journalism.

Let's have a serious conversation. When the youth wing of a major American political party is caught saying they "love Hitler" and want to send opponents to "gas chambers," what is the absolute minimum acceptable response from that party's leader?

Vance obviously figured out in 2022 that his only path to the Senate was to go full MAGA and lean hard into the dickishness of the movement for the new persona he created. But deciding that there is no limit to how far you will go in your awfulness is certainly a choice.
