Today's the day. I voted Catherine Connolly for President of Ireland, will you?

Polls close 10pm.
Go luath agus go minic mar a dúirt duine tráth!

I'm voting for Catherine Connolly because she is a person of compassion, integrity and intellect who shares my values that the purpose of society is to help everyone to thrive and live a life they find meaningful.

The social contract is broken every day by motorists like this - basic respect for other people. The "I'm not queuing in traffic because I'm more important than you" approach to driving. The "Fuck You & everybody else here" approach. The "I need to get to SuperValu before you" approach.

If Jim Gavin gets 12.5% or more, Fianna Fáil gets €250,000 in expenses refunded. Bear that in mind if you're voting for Jim Gavin as a joke.

Imagine a Dublin where the Metro takes you not just to and from the city centre, but to fields, farms, and forests.

We need build homes around green spaces, not on top of them.

Dublin needs homes, but not at the cost of its last green spaces
The seemingly low-hanging fruit of a large plot of land in Dublin must be resisted.

Extending a Luas or bus to the Shelly Banks would be great…. And let us take our dogs too! Look how many people are driving to bring dogs for a walk in Phoenix park 🤦

Dublin may look like a green city at first glance, but offers highly inequitable access to nature depending on the district.

It is a myopic fix to merely build housing developments on every available plot - we must protect our essential urban nature!

Confused by an ad in Pearse Station for a retail park featuring a whole load of multinational brands, calling it “só Irish” and then featuring a New England style building, and “the Bicester collection” (which also sounds pretty British.

"I do think stopping Nigel Farage has to be a huge mission in this country, but the biggest way we can stop Nigel Farage is by people joining the Green Party right now. We are creating the actual alternative to this Labour government ready to take on Reform."

Venezuela is not a significant supplier of drugs to the US and not a supplier of fentanyl at all. This is a pretext to do a coup in Latin America.
This is driving me crazy. The New York Times calling this madness an “anti-drug operation” is one of the worst forms of propaganda: accepting stated motivations of powerful people as the truth.

The Land-hoarding Tax (RZLT) was introduced last year. It's been a success. 2,000 returns filed. Over €40 million eared to the State.
Why is the Government allowing another year for landowners to seek an exemption? Land zone for housing needs to be brought into use now.

One thing I've learned from the Internet is that a lie needs 0% proof to be believed, but the truth requires thousands of pages of proof and still won't be believed.
With all the American Football tops around Dublin this evening I am wondering - do they sell them without numbers?
What if the player you like moves on…. Do you have to go out and buy a new number or do they mean anything?

Do we need to move responsibility to the Dept. of Transport?

School buses give families more options in how they can organise their days, and they reduce traffic and our transport emissions too. But every year hundreds are left without a space.
