in 1995, a 20 year old car was on its last legs, because a 1975 American normal car needs a rebuild every 100k or so.

in 2015, a 20 year old Toyota still has 100k+ miles of life yet, and they haven't really gotten worse since

incidentally this is why i am not and will not be hard anti-homeschool, while still thinking standardized testing requirements and health reqs etc. are important. i know too many 20somethings with weather sensitive bones thanks to teachers in districts that have only seen further budget cuts
