Miserable showing from Labour with 3,713 votes. Theyโ€™ve havenโ€™t lost a Senedd election there since the Seneddโ€™s inception. And theyโ€™ve won every GE there since the constituency was created in 1918.

Fewer than 18 months of Keir Starmer as PM undid all of that.

I see quite a lot of "Reform getting 36% from a standing start is remarkable" and feel I need to point out that it the "standing start" narrative is basically a Reform talking point and needs to be treated with care. It's a consolidation of left and right, in a smart, strategic way.

I'd be looking at where they stand on trans rights. I know that the Scottish Greens are separate from GPEW, but if the former is as affirming as the latter and those who have defected are not, then that could explain it.
