Becky Lynch is so damn good at this..
This is 100% a Just Blaze beat
extremely, extremely into the NBA on prime music
Area canine is confused why no parmesan cheese hit the floor….
I hate doing this, but there's no way Roger Goodell would've allowed a league broadcast partner to have one of their employees OPENLY beef with one of the biggest stars of their sport.

Like, it's this stuff where Sliver comes up short.
Hopefully.

"We" are somewhere else.

Tyler says something > someone that does not like him brings up Odd Future > The other ppl that don’t like him join the party > The ppl that like him go on the defensive > Ppl yell at each other > Ppl forget > Tyler says something again or drops a new album > Repeat
But what makes you different is that you recognize its aim.

A lot of people are so sucked into the nostalgia trap they never bother to question it.
I think that's my issue with the whole "monoculture is dying" phase people are in.

It (falsely) assumes we consumed the same things and shared the same experiences.
My other problem with this nostalgia-bait is that we're trying to "one-size fits all" our nostalgia into one generalized experience and yeah...for many of us, it didn't work like that....
I think we gotta be kinda specific about this...if we're talking about a video store in the tri-state area? Sure.

We talking anyone outside of there or California and I think that's an entirely different discussion.
One thing you could do at a video store in the '90s and '00s was rent movies from the '80s through the '00s as opposed to having them be unfindable because nobody bothered
Yeah I'm so spoiled rotten I wanted to watch The Elephant Man oops
Mentioning work in therapy is passe on socials now BUT..

The biggest thing my therapist has been working on with me is focusing on what's within my bounds to actually control. Everything else? can't focus on that.
Can remember watching a manager have to deal with a grieving mom because Blockbuster sent his debt to collections and they kept calling her to get that money...
Also, the folks who are doing the "not everything should be at your convenience/ you should face some adversity" thing better hope they're not coming from largely homogenous communities, because have I got news for YOU...
Basically.
I like physical media, I'm blessed to live in a city that still has a couple of cool video stores, I check discs out from the library. People mostly just miss being teenagers
As someone who worked in said video store. Some of y'all are on the verge of hyperbole trying to minimize how soul-sucking that job was.

Sorry.
Someone doesn’t remember how badly going to a video store sucked, and just generally how much worse things were in the 90s-2000s. Oh, it doesn’t work perfectly? Sometimes they just didn’t have the thing you wanted. We live in an era of unprecedented media abundance and it’s has spoiled us rotten.
I would laugh if this wasn't so true 😭
You would like the bald Grambling man who looks like he could throw you lol
If you still miss TNT and their shenanigans after this.....
MICHAEL JORDAN'S DEBUT ON NBC comes on Tuesday.

Halftime coverage of Rockets-Thunder will be highlighted by a portion of an interview between Mike Tirico and Michael Jordan in the first installment of "MJ: Insights to Excellence," a series that will air throughout the season.
Translation: “You got $50 million in buyout money?”
Statement from Florida State AD Michael Alford: “We are fully committed to helping Coach Norvell and the 2025 Seminoles strongly rebound in the coming weeks.”

The same people up in arms about AI nostalgia slop are in the replies and quotes here frothing at the mouth how much better everything was 20-30 years ago, lol.

Yeah, like, modern media convenience is honestly a really good thing, even if the companies behind it suck, lol :P

Sometimes a video game would ship with a bug that made it unplayable, and that was it, you just had a broken game and it would never get fixed, no "patch download" or anything.

The perils of AI: The AP uses STATS LLC, a British sports AI company (they once owned).

The team and players for this AI recap are all wrong, they took the Texas Southern vs Virginia-Lynchburg game and switched team names and scores.

Now it's on ESPN, CBS, and other AP subscribers
