Learning this completely changed how I read these strips.
andrewmale.bsky.social
The top row of the Peanuts Sunday strip was called the 'throw-away panel'. If there wasn't enough space in the comic section that syndicated it, the top row could be removed and the rest of the comic would still make sense without it. Schulz often used the throw-away panel for private/obscure jokes.

Hey look, Israel broke the cease-fire, twice, in two different ways, within 24 hours - again.
mondoweiss.net
NEW: Israel informed the UN it will permit only 300 aid trucks into Gaza daily, not the 600 mandated by the ceasefire it just signed.

I do not think non-members can respond, but the British Mountaineering Council (BMC) is running a survey on trans-inclusion at competition level. Feel free to email the BMC with your thoughts: [email protected].

And check out this excellent article: www.ukclimbing.com/articles/fea...

Following the publication of my writing exploring the relationship between climbing and autism, I found myself thinking towards a companion piece about experiencing climbing through the lens of...

So, people are going to have to pass A level english to live here are they? I hope they study what I did at A level, Translations by Brian Friel, about the colonial evil of the English forcing people to adopt the English language

Also, of course, it's not even a majority, there's no quantification of those opinions.

Reminds me of a certain west London councillor who'd preface her own more controversial thoughts with 'a resident said to me...'

Things like this make me so angry - I don't know how wanton selfish disruption of public space like this, particularly affecting (and endangering) less able people, became acceptable and tolerated.

If it doesn't make you angry too, Im genuinely curious as to why?

Today is the centenary of the birth of the great Tony Hart who opened the eyes of generations to visual art and who is forever associated with this, the shimmering Gallery theme from Vision On – which was also pretty much everyone’s introduction to the vibraphone. youtu.be/-ZNkJXKV7_w

If things were going to plan stuff like this simply wouldn't exist. The goal here is the elimination of fossil fuels, not "lots of batteries" or "lots of solar panels"

My kid visited many mosques in primary, also the Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Neasden and a synagogue. It's a great part of living in London.

She also attended a CofE for 6 years and remains an atheist.

🚨Christian children were told they'd "be Muslim by year 6"!🚨

😱Sounds outrageous?

You know the drill…

If it sounds outrageous and designed to trigger you into being angry with “other” people, then you need to do some 🪏

Once again, the argument against road safety + pollution improvements consists of what people 'feel', their 'views' and 'feedback'.

No actual evidence, because that would show that LTNs work.
hoxtonrich.bsky.social
This is absolutely bizarre. These LTNs, which from the start always had majority local support, & which were paid for by TfL, are now uncontroversial in practice. Removal of £2million OBGR improvements would be an unprecedented act of social vandalism & financial waste. Shameful stuff.
Letter from Lutfur Rahman and Aspire Councillors promising they’re still planning to rip out the LTNs as soon as possible.
mzdt.bsky.social
Lutfur gonna Lutfur.

Thank heavens 'views' and 'feelings' outweigh child safety and cleaner air...
