Trying to watch more cricket than I write about. 🏏 Seeing two books through the presses. One is about Nancy Sharp [https://tinyurl.com/2736jaw4]. C.L.R. James and John Arlott both get a mention in the other one [https://tinyurl.com/465bnwzv].

One of the loveliest places I know, on a fine coastal walk, too.
What we did a couple of weeks ago. Why not ski in the Caribbean? When you’re done you can hike and snorkel: three sports, one day.

I am beyond excited (and nervous!) to announce that my first book, "The House Archives Built and Other Thoughts on Black Archival Possibilities" is available for sale!

This series of essay includes reworked talks, new reflections, and a lot of my heart

Now live in book form. Do please share this announcement widely and re-post it if you know anyone who might be interested. And ask your library to order a copy, if you’d be so kind. To clarify: Anglican means the church(es) that now constitute the CPWI. 🙏🏝️⚓️ www.bloomsbury.com/us/anglican-...

One more reason to look forward to next summer.
Whoever ends up going / not going, I am enjoying having biathlon talk back🙂

BBC Archive just uploaded The Lonely Shore (1962), a surreal 15-minute short that takes the form of a scientific report from an abandoned and desolate future Britain. Written by Jacquetta Hawkes, an actual archaeologist, and directed by Ken Russell, an actual madman.

Make sure to catch Witches of Essex on Now TV or Apple TV. You might spot a familiar face…
Did you catch the Witches of Essex last night? It re-examines the trials when hundreds of women were condemned as witches and explores how fear and prejudice fuelled one of the darkest chapters in our history. The full series is on demand now. Keep watching and you might just spot us!

Comprehensive is the word for that win, no?
Or not really, given the Aus response.
Thanks for this comprehensive round up. On an Essex front, I am sorry Richards couldn’t find a fit with the club, and vice versa, even allowing for what was a difficult season for him in terms of production. I hope he finds opportunity and success elsewhere.

England breathing a sigh of relief, perhaps? This should help with NRR relative to Aus—probably Maybe?

Sounds far more impactful than targeting bike lanes
Of course, explaining to them that "no result" is also possible is quite fun.
It is--and your question gives me the chance to say your charts are indeed lovely.
Looking forward to explaining to my baseball friends here why a total of 133/9 results in Pakistan needing 113 runs to win. Love #cricket and #maths. Combine the two and it's glorious.
