A similar thing happened to me about 25 years ago, when I was a preteen. It was a nightmare.

Now, thanks to AI, so many young girls all over the world will have to live that same nightmare.
I said before Trump arrived between ripping off the public, Epstein and racism there was going to be plenty of common ground between Trump and the Windsors. Of course it was racism/abusing Meghan that got their shrivelled gnarly hearts beating faster.
Royalist: Donald Trump asked Queen Camilla ‘what’s the gossip on Meghan?’ www.celebitchy.com/945558/
"Another thing that won’t age well, much like Camilla, is the fact that the Windsors were just SO pleased with Trump."
And that in a nutshell is everything wrong with the Windsors.
The palace thinks Prince Harry is ‘a greater priority’ than punishing Prince Andrew www.celebitchy.com/945467/

All the right wing grifters are out in force writing opinion pieces about “WOKE.” Just a reminder: the term woke comes from AAVE during the civil rights era, it meant being awake to social and racial injustice. Imagine being mad at that and using it as an insult

Ah, the dulcet sounds of an ER at 2am.

All is well, it's just there's some miles on this engine so sometimes we take the old girl into the shop.

For my patrons who like to help in a pinch, this is a week's income. would not turn down the help.

Do you know how stupid this is? I called 911 BECAUSE I COULD NOT GET AN UBER XL AT THAT HOUR AND MY FIRST UBER COULDN'T FIT MY CHAIR so I tell them look, this may be an emergency soon, I need to be seen, but it is not lights and sirens. They obviously send not just an ambulance but a whole shiny fire engine and everyone had their lights on. And I'm trying to explain to ten dudes at once that I know they are not a taxi but also I need a doctor and they have a doctor van, and no I do not know what is wrong, if I knew that I would not be trying to go to the ER at that hour to begin with. And what this turns out to be is a bad medicine interaction from a new drug combined with my forgetting another one for a few days, and so now I get to pay for the doctor van and also the fire truck I specifically asked them to not send and the ER and the hospital visit as they won't release me until my levels are back to good.

But fuck it, this floor is the one with the good ice chip machine. So if you have to go, at least there's that.

This is a massive, crucial story–one indicative of what the book ban movement is all about (not the shiny 1984 displays, alas!)–that isn't getting the attention it deserves.
New Braunfels Independent School District (TX) has just banned middle and high school students from using their school libraries. Why? So officials can go through the library and remove any books they deem inappropriate, per the state's SB 13 law.

Focus on Mike Johnson. Just because he’s little and pious and speaks without opening his mouth doesn’t mean he’s not - at this moment - as dangerous as Trump.
Q: This has been reported for a while. Cory Mills was accused of beating a girlfriend in his DC apt. Are you concerned about these allegations?

JOHNSON: You have to ask Rep. Mills about that. He's been a faithful colleague. I don't know the details. Let's talk about things that are really serious
If George Soros paid for everything the republicans accuse him of he’d be paupered.
Republicans are melting down over millions of Americans peacefully protesting against Trump on Saturday.

Cancún Cruz is scared because the GOP’s authoritarian agenda is becoming even more unpopular as our defiance grows even stronger.

Acyn on Twitter: “Cruz: Follow the money. Cut off the money. You look at this No Kings rally—there's considerable evidence that George Soros and his network is behind funding these rallies which may well turn into riots.

I've introduced legislation that would allow DOJ to use RICO to prosecute the money that is funding these No Kings Protests”

Q: “Most hospitals + people who will lose insurance are in rural areas. If Trump & Republicans are so intent on sticking it to their own voters, why not let them?”

@aoc.bsky.social : “That’s the difference between us & Trump. I don’t care if you voted for me, I want you to have health care.”

“I’ve written for too many publications that just suddenly folded and disappeared their catalogs to think that it’s all permanent,” said Katelyn Burns, a trans journalist who’s been writing publicly for a decade.
www.theverge.com/cs/features/...
She’s pointing to a cruel irony: the content that could help trans people is often the most vulnerable to disappearing, while the content that could hurt us gets preserved forever by those who wish us harm. Support forums vanish when companies fold. Transition timelines disappear when YouTube changes its policies. But screenshots of old tweets? Those live forever in the folders of people who want us gone.

Remember the first few months of this year, when all we talked about was DOGE and spending cuts and waste, and this administration gutted USAID?

And now they’re giving $40 billion (!) to Argentina.

Insane the amount of amnesia in this country and in our politics and media.

roberts thinks it is an affront that a community of upstanding citizens can not do as it chooses when it comes to voting. if that means that they might discriminate against a racial minority, he has no problem with that either as long as it is facially neutral.
Everything about John Roberts's approach to the Voting Rights Act makes sense when you remember that John Roberts has has always been hostile to the Voting Rights Act, never believed it was appropriate, and has spent most of his 45-year legal career working to hollow it out.

White people need to talk to other white people. It is entirely up to the whites to move the needle on their end.

Let me be clear: racism and antisemitism are rampant on *both* sides of the aisle.

Where’s this argument when they’re banning books in school libraries?
