I don’t know who needs to hear this but you should try — within reason — to make personal choices that are better for society, even knowing that personal choices are not sufficient for addressing large systemic issues. Just be normal about it.

This is the road where people are driving 154 km/h. A residential area with young families on one side, a park on the other.

And yet for some reason, people are clocking Autobahn speeds here. A few years ago a guy doing 100 killed an elderly couple. 1,500 crashes on this stretch in the past decade

Not agreeing with you 100% is not the same thing as dismissing concerns. I do actually think it’s a lot easier to get policies and budgets changed (e.g. air filtration) than to change behavior at the whole society level. It’s really hard to get people to change, even if they care!

Do you really believe there is a short-term way to go from the world we’re in to one where most people mask in public?

Similar: Many places are built around driving, but cars are dangerous and many can’t drive. This can be improved, but there’s no feasible short-term path to _most_ stopping driving

Empirically, few are willing to mask in public indefinitely — but to be effective as a public health intervention, it needs to be broadly taken up. Framing it as a requirement to be part of anti-fascist resistance makes it harder to grow a big enough coalition to win, while doing little for health

We are considering terminating business with China having to do with Cooking Oil, and other elements of Trade, as retribution. As an example, we can easily produce Cooking Oil ourselves, we don’t need to purchase it from China.

One reason that Dems need to be publicly saying "we will abolish ICE and prosecute every single one of them who used excessive force, mistreated detainees or detained an unaccompanied minor/US citizen/person with ongoing legal proceedings" is that saying so will deter abuses right now.
