~taking out my earrings~ B2B GTM folks, let’s maybe not be gaslit about AI anymore.

Neither is true: “AI gives us life.” “AI will kill us.” Stop giving any of it oxygen. Instead, focus on what can give you immediate results in acquisition, expansion, retention:
Absolutely tracks.
Okay, for the folks who asked: here's the majority AI view, writing up the reasonable, thoughtful view on AI that the vast majority of people in tech hold, that gets overshadowed by the bluster and hype of the tycoons trying to shill their nonsense. anildash.com/2025/10/17/t... Please share!

I love this show. No clue if it's technically good or not but it's such a great ride!
Bravo! New Guard, pls
Let this moment be a wakeup call to stop taking some of the far-left seriously.

Mamdani isn't good enough for them. Nor is Rep. AOC. Nor is Sen. Sanders. No one is good enough for them.

Britain must crush Musk.

Democratic governments don't usually target individuals - but Elon Musk is acting like a rogue state - encouraging violence on our streets, and funding the far right.

The usual incentives are broken - so we need to change what we do:

Britain must crush Musk
What should our democracy do when a very rich man encourages violence on our streets? That’s the question that Britain faces today with Elon Musk’s recent behaviour. Traditionally, this hasn’t been ...

Word is that when Allison read that part of the script she choked and threw it across the room. She was also shocked.

i do firmly believe in the end, we will win, but the dread and the loss of watching this nightmare unfold is really something. These assholes are undermining everything we've taken for granted as a democratic and open society (however imperfect) with such vile hubris
SCOTUS killing VRA would really be the culmination of a Second Redemption

Tish James lit up the room last night — and her words echoed far beyond the walls of The United Palace. This is a fight for the future.

This is a great league table of countries doing well /badly on climate change.

Terrible: South Africa, Russia, India

Sluggish: China, USA

Not bad: EU
In contrast, China does NOT lead the world in how fast it's adding clean energy in relation to the size of its energy market, and most definitely does not lead the world in how clean its energy or power mix is.

Some ideas for this weekend #NoKings

When the administration and ICE act like clowns, Portland has shown us how the appropriate response is to make it a circus.

🤡🎪🤡🎪🤡
Here's a list of other ways Portland has flipped the narrative on its head, beyond the viral antics of Seth the Frog & his inflatable friends!

it'd be hard for me to love her, a person I don't know, more.

As a woman, she's a constant reminder that all is not shit.

As a tech founder building, there are no better values to work toward.

Taking on Elon Musk should be an open goal in British politics.

When Aaron Fucking Rupar is doing more reporting than CBS News and The NYT

I think this was a plotline on the second season of The Newsroom
Trump's conversation with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is caught on a hot mic. Hard to tell exactly what they are talking about, but Subianto asks Trump about meeting Eric Trump and Don Jr, who supposedly have nothing to do with government while they run the family business.
It’s always a great year *not* to go to dreamforce

I could’ve never guessed that they could top all of the normal terrible reasons to avoid it
Would be a good time to shut down Dreamforce. If I have friends who are still speaking there, this is a good reason to cancel.

This morning there is one Nobel Peace Prize winner, 8.1 billion or so people who did not win the Nobel Peace Prize, and one Nobel Peace Prize loser.
Was relieved to see this and what it portends for his future hopes:

Reporter: Why didn’t Trump win the Nobel Peace Prize?

Nobel committee chair: We only give the award to people of courage and integrity.

Every single AI data center is a toxic investment, with most of its value tied up in GPUs that will be multiple generations behind by the time these things turn on - and then die in 3-5 years.

All to build for AI demand that doesn't exist.

Lucky to have this popped up in my feed. Such a glorious perspective

stunning achievement indeed
We have built a society in which people of different skin tones, religious backgrounds & cultures get along, share power, work alongside each other, procreate with each other, recognise the each other’s humanity and democratic rights. It is a STUNNING ACHIEVEMENT OF WORLD HISTORIC PROPORTIONS.
I know statistics are poorly understood and are misused. But facts matter

Between the 1991, 2001, 2011 and 2021 Census *every* ethnic group in the UK has become *less* geographically segregated and *all* groups, majority and minorities, are more likely to interact with people not like them

My wider family: we have Irish, Welsh, an Iraqi Jew, Zulu South Africans, a Zimbabwean, English, North Americans, and an Iranian. We all have a hoot & think Nelson was cool, because we love each other and we live in a culture that allows and celebrates that

Everyone needs to get their shit together

Oh Kim, I’m so sorry. What a sweet girl. And all the poor, unclaimed chicken bones in the future.
