Take a picture of yourself at the No Kings rally.

Print it.

Put it in a frame.

Your grandchildren will speak about you for generations to come. You took a stand against fascism. You stood up for democracy.

Johnson accidently telling the truth there at the end
Johnson: That is not the principles of the Republican Party. You want me to articulate them? We fought the Nazis, we defended that evil ideology.

"House slave."
Think about this for a brief moment. Think of just how fecal and vicious a man has to use such a term in this context. This is leadership by the absolute worst of us, the most vile trash that we could scrape from the gutter and elevate to govern a nation.

Hi there. We're the Republican Party. Our policies are such that without voter suppression, gerrymandering and a gutting of civil rights legislation, we couldn't stay in power. And, oh yeah, if you do somehow manage to win an election on the merits, we won't swear you in to serve.

Best of luck.

This isn't hyperbole. If the Admin is able to pay the troops with money that isn't allocated, there's nothing stopping them from allocating money that doesn't exist which essentially ends the need for Article I.
I think that is the plan. Don't think they'll ever seat her. Why would they? Trump has done an end run around Congress and just does whatever he wants, why would they ever reconvene if the ultimate goal is to keep him in power
Is the plan for Congress not to reconvene … ever? You can’t stop the Epstein thing unless that is the plan.
I desperately hope this is an omen of a swing back of the pendulum. We are so far to a horrible extreme than only an equally extreme swing back can possibly fix things.
The con worked, until it didn’t?

ROGAN: “I really thought they were just going to go after the criminals… I really thought there was enough gang members.”

ME: He still doesn’t get it. That’s what Trump wanted everyone to believe. They’re not even trying to go after “the criminals”.

When Trump says he’s cutting “democratic programs”, he’s referring to the ACA, SNAP, Medicare, Medicaid, social security…

His pitch to the base is, “I’m taking things you depend on because they were championed by people you don’t like…and giving you nothing from the people you do like.”

Winning.
Why did I just recall Rep. Henry Hyde dismissing his extramarital affair in his 40s as “youthful indiscretion”?
Vance on public outrage over the "I love Hitler" group chat: "Grow up! Focus on the real issues. Don't focus on what kids say in group chats... The reality is that kids do stupid things, especially young boys — they tell edgy, offensive jokes. That's what kids do."

Remarkably swift passage of Everett teen into deportation system showcases ICE reach and efficiency
Whiskey Pete thinks the free press should be stenographers for his propaganda, not reporters. Glad to see them (except for One America News, naturally) decline.
Pete Hegseth has instituted a policy that would prohibit journalists from accessing or soliciting information from the Pentagon that he hasn't pre-approved. Thankfully, most news organizations are not playing along. #Hegseth #Pentagon #media #FreePress #Trump #DOD #Journalism
These extrajudicial killings are crimes against humanity.
Kaine: "We should not be allowing the president to create a secret enemies list and make the unilateral decision about whether to kill people without sharing that information at least with the Armed Service and Intel committees. So this is very troubling."
Trump acting like an emperor is why millions will turn out Saturday to protest. NO KINGS IN AMERICA. We fought a revolution over this.

The first Jim Crow was enacted under the auspices that racism is a necessity and a great and natural moral good.

The second one is being enacted under the auspices that racism doesn’t exist if you claim you don’t see it and anyone who questions your motives about that is oppressing you.
Roberts has always felt that the suggestion that white people might discriminate on the basis of race is a profound moral injustice, much greater than black people being denied the right to vote bsky.app/profile/jayw...
Everything about John Roberts's approach to the Voting Rights Act makes sense when you remember that John Roberts has has always been hostile to the Voting Rights Act, never believed it was appropriate, and has spent most of his 45-year legal career working to hollow it out.

“the constitution forbids race conscious remedies” would be news to the people who wrote the 13th, 14th and 15th amendments
Griem goes there, arguing in response to Justice Jackson that there can be no race-conscious remedy absent a finding of intentional discrimination.
