WHEN THERE’S TREASURE BEHIND THE WATERFALL: Oh wow. Yes, very clever! Waterfall treasure! No one’s ever done that before. Lazy jackass

WHEN THERE’S NO TREASURE BEHIND THE WATERFALL: Wow. Too stuck-up to put treasure there huh? Too much of a fucking ICONOCLAST for that? Piece of shit. FUCK you

Hence going with Option B: attempt to nerd snipe someone more skilled into doing it.

Sadly it has been decades since I've properly played a piano and I doubt my hands are up to it.

Has someone done a Wellerman/Hall of the Mountain King medley? In my head it works.

As you say, breathing is not a luxury. I also make it 1/3,000 of vehicles on the road today (and if they mean cars, many of those vehicles have worse emissions) rather than 1/6?

My attitude toward scaffolding on historic buildings changed when I heard what the head of Cologne cathedral said when asked if the cathedral w/o scaffolding was a pipe dream. Answer: “It’s not pipe dream, it’s a nightmare, it would mean we no longer care about preserving it.”

Scaffolding = love ❤️🏛️

It’s called the Overton window cuz it’s supposed to be hard to move but people are getting stronger so moving a ton is getting easier over time.

If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.
Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?
2? Questions
I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

I was going to say that’s a bit forward of a fitted sheet to ask me, but I suppose it’s a fair question since we’re going to bed together

It's a shame one of the biggest newspapers in the country can't afford to send a couple reporters to an obscure city like Portland to find out and report back.

A classic case of irresponsible both-sidesism from the NYT. The story is that Trump and MAGA propagandists are lying about Portland to incite a conflict, not that there are different views of the matter.

Hope you enjoy! I think it's quite excellent (both the original and the return)

Yes, like the show. In that the antagonists are basically all drawn from real life examples of businessmen getting away with atrocities. (Apparently in many cases toned down because audiences would take straight reporting as an implausible exaggeration)

As you say it's not the point, but the only rape by deception thought experiment I can think of that's potentially something is the "extremely convincing identical twin/alternate universe self lying about who they are" one.
