One down, 76 to go 😅
Alright, I've made a list and checked it twice. The 6th Annual Christmas Challenge is hereby set. Marking the largest Challenge to date, all who seek the coveted trinket will have tomorrow, 11/28, to 12/31 to watch all 77 selected works. I have spoken.

Sitting in, as they describe themselves, a “transgender and gender non-conforming worker-owned and operated cafe” and honestly until I was reading something online I forgot it was Black Friday.

The bit where people believe certain rules don’t apply to them is no fun. “No ATVs” being one of them is one of the more common ones you run into while hiking
There’s a piece of forested property in the northwest corner of the state, new to the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management’s collection, that Andy Grover enjoys hiking, at least when he’s not dodging all-terrain vehicles.

Me: finding the address of Marie’s aunt and uncle’s place, where I have been once, by panning and zooming a map because I remember the approximate route and geography.
Marie: “how do you spell the name of that street, because I doubt it, it’s not in my SMSs”

Reader, who do you think was right?

Had lunch in New Haven. @dylancgiles.bsky.social noticed where I was and commented on the frequent bus service. Now staying in Watervliet for the weekend. Again, frequent bus line close by. Basically, places with similar density to where I live but better bus service.

The problem is Rhode Island.

Bravo to @somervilleinfr1.bsky.social, among like maybe three US city transpo agencies committed enough to safety to try a raised crossing across a minor arterial.

The pizza shop down the way also does a Thanksgiving pizza that we’ve done a few times. If I’d been home tho I would have had this today 😅
Poco Loco, my local extremely white taco shop, is having a seasonal special "grande gobbler" for a few days. A flatbread with turkey, cheese, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and a cup of gravy.

I've added some of Sauce Leopard's Bird's Blood cranberry Habanero hot sauce to it.

Not bad!

Not sure I believe those stories about women sleeping their way to the top.

I’ve improved my sleep hygiene as much as possible with an old woman’s bladder, I can sleep anywhere and at any time, and it hasn’t even improved my job prospects let alone my employment.

I wanna see Lifeguard and Bar Italia, but I also don't want to get home after midnight because I think the sleep deprivation I've been experiencing for the past couple weeks is making my body feel like shit. Why do we have to have stupid radius clauses that make tours skip PVD?

If you gave me a public transit improvement like REM in my daily life I’d be dragging my friends out to whatever I could with it.

Hell, just during the 4 weeks of half hourly PVD-Bristol bridge detour ferry we had I dragged friends on winter ferry trips with me and they enjoyed it!
Lots of people on Reddit were in disbelief about all the positive REM videos, thinking it was a CDPQ conspiracy.

No, people really do like transit that much. You just don’t follow it when it happens in other cities.

And on top of that, the REM really is a particularly exciting project!

POV: you are fighting with autoconf m4 macros in the same outfit you went to a play hours earlier in.

(I’m trying to get m4_foreach to expand a list into macros but the list comes from a shell variable and I hate myself)

The vibe of the version of Fleetwood Mac’s “Hold Me” where Christine sings the lead and with slightly different lyrics is wildly different than the one that made the album.

I got to Carnegie Mellon in mid 1991. My Andrew account gave me access to a system where all my files were everywhere.

I built a Unix computer from parts, got most of the software running (even the closed source parts) and one miserable school day decided I would work on distributed systems instead
