The 100 lowest-paying US corporations spent $644B on stock buybacks from 2019 to 2024.

Buybacks artificially boost share prices and inflate CEO pay.

The typical worker at these companies earned $35k last year.

Meanwhile, the average CEO was paid $17.2M

Despite Trump’s claim that the US is targeting traffickers in the Caribbean, the question of controlling Venezuela’s resources has clearly occupied his mind. Trump allegedly said during his first term that Venezuela is a country the US “should be going to war with” because “they have all that oil.”
US acts like pirates in the Caribbean
The United States is acting less like a global guardian and more like a Caribbean pirate—launching drone strikes, flouting international law, and pursuing oil under the guise of fighting drugs. From P...

The Carney government's shenanigans on national pharmacare continue. If only the Carney Liberals could show real leadership on pharmacare—a nation building program that would actually help millions of Canadians... www.makeusgreat.ca/p/carney-vs-... #cdnpoli

Hi, I'm the ProPublica reporter who's been tracking an unusual stat: U.S. citizens grabbed by immigration agents.

I did it because the government isn’t.

This is what I found.
[VIDEO] Mark Carney @mark-carney.bsky.social confirms: Canada will arrest Netanyahu if he enters the country. Canada will comply with the ICC. #cdnpoli

"Safe Parkside" filed a Freedom of Information request to get top speeds from the ill-fated & much abused Parkside camera. The speed limit is 40km/h.

Killers, all of them, with the ear & heart of Premier Doug Ford.

NEW: I created a database containing profiles of 206 Canadians who have served in the Israeli military. This is the largest such collection of names and profiles in Canada, by far, and is a major expansion on the past version.

Mark Carney shows contempt for all Canadians by excluding the press from foreign trips. He needs to apologize and make amends for this, and be shown he’s a democratic head of government not the chief executive of Canada Inc.
Statement from the president of the Parliamentary Press Gallery, on Prime Minister Mark Carney’s trip to Egypt:

“It is unprecedented that Canadian media be entirely excluded from a Canadian prime minister’s foreign trip.”

The brother of federal Industry Minister, Mélanie Joly, is the president and CEO of Intelcom, a courier company that exploits subcontracted delivery drivers for pennies per package. It stands to benefit mightily from the dismantlement and privatization of public postal services in Canada.
The privatization crisis at Canada Post
Canada Post is under attack. Political favouritism, privatized delivery, and precarious subcontracting are putting workers and public service at risk. From Intelcom’s exploitative practices to the gov...

1/ The antisemitic attack in Manchester is devastating enough without adding insult to mortal injury.

Two unshakeable principles should meet such acts.
We are watching a fascist takeover of our closest neighbour and the world’s largest military: Sitting back and hoping things work out is no longer an option. @justinling.ca www.thestar.com/opinion/cont...

When Canada needed oil during WWII, Imperial was under Crown control serving the public interest.

Now it's 70% owned by ExxonMobil.
Billions in profits, cutting 1 in 5 jobs.

The biggest enemy of fossil fuel workers is not climate activists. It's the industry itself.
Nothing like a federal government that manages to kneecap democracy and piss off postal workers in one move. Truly world-class governance. 👏
