The CDC RIFs are terrible in more ways than just immediate impact to people’s health.

It’s bad enough that we will lose access to our own health data. It’s worse that these data can and will be weaponized against us.

CDC Library staff and the larger Office of Science Quality and Library Services have yet to be re-hired at the CDC!!! Please contact your elected reps to advocate for the reinstatement of the CDC Library. Every little bit helps!

The CDC Library performs the behind-the-scenes work that enables timely, effective public health responses.

Without the library, the administration has placed a massive, unnecessary time tax on CDC staff, forcing them to spend hours searching for information instead of saving lives.

“A horrifying read.”

Thank you for the kind words.🙏
His first book meticulously documented the lies & disinformation of anti-science contrarian physicians during the pandemic. Dr. Howard now documents in "Everyone Else is Lying to You” how they parlayed their prevarications into positions of power within the HHS. A well-written but horrifying read.
The sequel to We Want Them Infected is done!

COVID killed 1.2 million Americans while vaccines saved millions.

Yet, disinformation superspreaders were empowered, where they are taking a wrecking ball to science & medicine.

How did that happen?🧵

My op-ed just came out discussing how NIH leadership is failing early career researchers and, importantly, how we can push back and take our future into our own hands.
NIH Leadership Is Failing Early Career Researchers
Halted training programs, funding chaos, and hiring freezes jeopardize advancement options for early career researchers.

The thing we have learned very clearly about Jay Bhattacharya in the last six months is:

He wants to be a podcaster.

He seems to have no interest in running NIH or learning about science. He’s the leader of #darkscicomm
Bhattacharya is busy tweeting from his personal account about how he was right about lockdowns.

This is where he seems to want to spend his time, rather than doing his day job.

Battlefields are changing, as Ukraine has showed us. I suspect that instead of building proxy militias with RPGs and rockets, Iran will rearm new fighters with FPV suicide drones and If they can do that into the millions... and if they dig in to avoid IDF bombs... Israel will have a big problem.

Does the public has a good sense of just how radical are the Trump/Project 2025 claims of presidential power?

NEW: There’s a disaster unfolding in Alaska right now. And no major network is covering it.

The remnants of Typhoon Halong battered western Alaska overnight. Homes, with people in them, have literally been swept into the Bering Strait.

At least 20 are missing. No comment from any federal agency.

This is a powerful account from a PhD student whose fellowship was terminated by NIH because it was part of a "diversity" program without any other considerations or understanding of what the program or the students were actually doing.

On October 1st, four #NIH directors and one high ranking official were all terminated. This is a devastating loss for our agency and our country. We spoke to some of their colleagues to learn about them and their amazing work.

That’s so typical of this circus…I want to know HOW they became officers?! what did they do for it? And then refused to divest their financial conflicts of interest-that’s despicable!

The editors of the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) were apparently fired today.

The precursor to MMWR began in 1878 to address emerging public health threats rapidly.

We are not “great” without it. We are vulnerable to threats from sporadic foodborne illness to bioterrorism.
