ICE is randomly targeting peaceful protesters because the point is to terrorize the public into accepting martial law.

Indiscriminate attacks send the message that there’s nothing you can do to stay safe.

The regime wants you to cower at home and cede the streets of your city to their control.

On top of this, I really don’t see what people hope to gain by gatekeeping nonbinary or other GNC folks from the trans community. Or any flavor of queer from the queer community, really. Gatekeeping” I think is the term they’re looking for.

The rhetoric that purposes to be against "watering down the term transgender" is watering down the term colonization. Labels being fluid and used differently by different queer people is not the same thing as a people invading another people and stealing their land/condemning their way of life

Anyway, time to go to work where I can continue to be existential. Mmn. I kinda wish my job was more task-intensive so I had more of an outlet for the festering thoughts. The extra downtime is something I’m struggling with, especially since I’m unable to work on comics or anything.

I have noticed I’ve gotten a lot more snarky and pessimistic than I used to be, and I hate that. It doesn’t really feel like me. But I’m just affected by a lot of hard losses. And I miss the times where I wasn’t.

And also, I really miss my sister. She hasn’t been alive for a whole year. Man.

Literally everything feels meaningless because in this life, the bad guys always win and good intent is punished and rarely rewarded. The greedy thrive, lack of empathy prevails, and the rest of us suffer because of it.

It’s just heavy sometimes, that’s all.

It’s been a whole year since my sister was killed and it feels like I’ve barely processed the reality of it. Despite thinking about it, or her, basically every day. I’ve just been living this life with no meaning, feels like. It’s why I even “lost” my heart for SlumberTown for a while.

When will I lose something else? It’s like I’m constantly on edge anticipating it. Because it doesn’t matter how hard I try or how hard I work or try to be a good person, it’s like… loss will occur, at any time, any day, and I’ll never be prepared for it, and there’s nothing I can do to stop it.

I don’t think there’s anything I can do to get “it” back. I’m really not sure. It’s not like I’m unable to feel happiness, as I do often in short bursts. And I’m pretty good at dissociating generally. I just feel like a guy with bad luck all of the time, & it gives me this anxious pit in my stomach.

Because most days, truthfully, I don’t think I am. I think there used to be a time when I was a bit more okay. Life seemed like something I could deal with, regardless of the challenges. But something in me has kinda… died? Faded? Around this time last year. And it’s never fully come back.

I realized there’s not a lot of things that make me cry anymore, but there’s still a trigger phrase for me.

“Are you okay?”

If someone asks me that, or something close to it, I start to cave and break down a little. The tears come then.

Maybe I’m just getting more emotional because it’s almost been a year now since my sister died. And I think that was the last straw that broke the camel’s back for me, where my heart went from “things are going to be okay” to “things aren’t okay and maybe they never will be”.

Sentimentality is kind of rough on me these days. Nostalgia for old times increasingly reminds me of the things I’ve lost, and the optimism I used to hang onto a lot more tightly. It’s enough to make me want to cry at times.

Werewolves and wolfmen have their own holiday (Howlween) so I propose that fauns and goatmen have their own holiday too.

Or maaaaybe Baalloween can be for us too! We just have to embrace our demonic side in order to be spooky (I’ve never met Baphomet and I don’t think I’m related to him at all. Hm)
