Every day there is a new biggest corruption scandal in the history of the United States

It's a goal of mine to help make this the most famous, well-known and UNDERSTOOD quote about cities in history. Please share it as much as you can.

BTW, Aurora, MLK, and 4th Ave S are 3 of the top 5 most dangerous streets in the city. So when Harrell talks about "leading with safety," but refuses to back bold designs that would save lives because it might ruffle some BIA feathers or slow down some car commuters a bit, that's weak leadership.

When my campaign accidentally signed a letter from me, rather than “Ron Davis for Seattle with the address” the PDC had no problem fining us.

But when Bruce Harrell used city resources with impunity to campaign, they dismissed the complaint.

Who do these people work for?
That is so Seattle though. Just like how we have all these election ethics laws Bruce just broke with coordinating with his PAC but nobody is actually policing it. I heard SEEC takes forever to review after a complaint is submitted. Honor system fails again!

In our fifth installment of Voices of Seattle, we present longtime Seattle community advocate Sharon Maeda! Sharon says, “I’m supporting Katie wilson because she’s…dedicated to all the people of Seattle, not just the select few that have the money.”

Thanks Sharon!

Bruce Harrell - same old backroom politics, hostile workplaces, coddling billionaires while the rest of us struggle.

Katie Wilson has spent her life fighting for us - now it's time for us to vote her into office!

Designed-in car dependency, surging car prices, longer loan periods with more interest.

Sound like “freedom” to you?
Cars are so expensive that buyers need 7-year loans

In 2026 employers will be able to provide up to $340 a month in tax-free (to employee) parking benefits, transit, or vanpool, but nothing for people who walk or ride a bike to work.

Maybe we should throw this benefit out the window and encourage taxable general cash benefits for transportation.

Tbqh for me the biggest surprise from The Low-Rise Speculative Apartment was that accelerated depreciation was a huge factor in the construction of dingbats - because they were single lots and could be depreciated quickly it was a huge boon for people like doctors, lawyers, etc to build one.
Yep
All of these excesses can be reined in, if not entirely eliminated, by Congress—or at least by a Congress not under Donald Trump’s thumb. All it needs is the wisdom to recognize its own crucial role in creating this problem.

Someone show the hysterical fire chiefs this chart who keep driving up housing costs for everything but single family homes with overdone code revisions

I can't stop thinking about this. We're pursuing zero fire risk in multifam, while tolerating much more in single-fam. People respond by building and living in single-fam, where they're exposed to not only one of the highest fire death risks in the developed world, but also TONS more car crash risk

Reminder that @governor.ca.gov is reportedly considering vetoing SB79, the best housing bill to clear the CA legislature in decades.

It would be a *disaster*, substantively & for Newsom's political future. Really hope he doesn't self-immolate.

Tell him!

There have been multiple digs in the last week or so--interesting that coordination hmm--at @seattletru.bsky.social's annual revenue hovering around $200k/year as a reason why @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social isn't "qualified" to be Mayor.

If she pulled all this off with $200k, imagine her with $1.9b.

Looking forward to a profile from the Times that hits Harrell abandoning his son, pointing a gun at a pregnant woman and lying to a cop about it, repeatedly standing by abusers and his failed police chief, giving away alternate response/SPD accountability, and lying about his (failed) shelter target
A policy-minded advocate for left-wing causes, Katie Wilson shrugged off the idea she might be better suited for a City Council seat, instead aiming for mayor.
Trump has been able to get away with what he by the laziness of past Congresses. They let US Presidents have too much leeway.
