my literary hot take is that anytime someone shows the slightest interest in reading you got to sell them on it like you got a quota to hit. book tok, 19th century goth, fairy smut, trashy detective novels, sci-fi fantasy, audiobooks, self-help, whatever, if someone is excited to read encourage them

I get that there’s some nuance required for “anyone could have signed Blake Snell” but the other 29 MLB teams really have no excuse for keeping the Dodgers from re-signing their most reliable October hitter
