Kinda annoyed at both our CMs vacating/chasing out of the middle there (I dunno one of y'all should maybe think a little bit like a DM maybe?) but it didn't really have anything to do with the chance Frankfurt got in the end so hey I guess we're just cursed 🤷‍♂️
At least we lasted more than 15 minutes before conceding this time, I guess.
...and Frimpong's just done his hamstring so it goes.
Given how isolated/far from goal Salah's been this season kinda think this basic bitch 4-4-2 with him as one of the strikers would suit him better like as weird as it feels maybe this getting a run as our base formation would make sense?
I guess that's one way to try to fix things if Slot feels it's Trent's passing range in the buildup we're missing—just have Wirtz in those areas pinging balls (but freed up of most of the defensive stuff)
Good chance. Hell of a pass from Wirtz to start that. Basically a Trent ball from the same kind of areas.
If possible I would like for today to be a day where I enjoy watching Liverpool play football, thanks.
Will this side suddenly start ripping off at a 2.4ppg pace? Probably not! But we also know that, at least in theory, they have the talent to do that. Which you can't say about any other English clubs bar City and Arsenal. So. I mean. Hope, innit?
brb toying with becoming a John Heitinga truther
When individuals in an otherwise good and coherent side look bad it's fair to question the individuals. When everyone looks bad and the side appear tactically incoherent the buck stops with the manager. Arne's got a mess (in part at least of his own making) to fix.
That is the hardest of #LFC defeats in this brutal run. The opponent, moment, and manner all sting. So many individuals struggling with form at the same time, questionable decision-making all over the shop. It’s not for lack of trying, but everything seems completely out of synch.
At least we'll always have the Summer 2025 Transfer Window trophy.
Liverpool had the chances to win today but, if they had, it would have papered over the cracks. They don't look like champions because the summer ensured this isn't the same team that won it, and any defence of their title will be over by the time they work out all these issues.
Whatever it is in Arne's mind that makes it worth suffering through this trash football better be pretty special because I think at the moment we'd look better dragging Harry Redknapp out of retirement and having him tell the payers to just fucking run around a bit while he leans out the car window.
I for one can't wait for next week when we nail Mo and Cody to the touchline again, ask our fullbacks to underlap constantly, and nobody knows what anybody else is doing while our press looks like steaming dogshit but individually we create enough xG to say maybe on another day...
Like yeah results were there to start the season but everyone knew it wasn't sustainable based on the performances—but if we could just click into gear with all of those somewhat undeserved points as the foundation? Look out, world!

Turns out the world didn't have to worry about us.
Decent xG numbers aside, hoping for a late equalizer and maybe escaping with a point at Anfield against this Man United side on the back of the last three losses does not fill me with hope and belief that just we're about to click into gear.
I mean yeah it's finishing more than creating but our passing has been pretty bad as has our defending so...

Arne Slot says #LFC must improve in a number of areas, including passing, creating chances and defending.
There's always a club nobody expects who ends up having a banter season oh hai there, Liverpool.
Chiesa is love, Chiesa is life
(please stay fit buddy)
GIVE FEDE MORE MINUTES!!!
As good as Ekitike's goals have been Federico Chiesa has been our best attacking player this season and like I don't think that's even arguable?
