It’s been 100 days since Elon Musk launched his new political party: The American Party, and what a ride it’s been! Its coalition is expanding, its clear policy aims are drawing support from left, right and center. And best of all? It’s real and it exists.
I was considering watching Allie Beth Stuckey debate liberal Christians on Jubilee until I saw it last 100 minutes. I struggle with self-loathing, but even I don’t dislike myself that much
There have been schisms within mainline denominations like Methodists over conservatism versus liberalism. Maybe the conservatives don’t consider themselves Evangelicals?
I wish they would let the PCUSA minister in Chicago speak to him. He would actually care enough about Trump to encourage him to repent for the sake of his soul, unlike the grifters surrounding him.
The interesting thing is that Trump himself seems to understand that he’s not good enough to go to heaven and is afraid. He’s the only one in his circle that’s even coming close to understanding the gravity of the situation according to traditional Christianity
People are very uncomfortable with theological development I find. They want their beliefs to be unchanged from thousands of years ago, but that’s just not how Christian theology has ever worked. Even the NT spends a lot of time grappling with what Jesus’s death and resurrection exactly meant.
Every time someone makes me read something Peter Thiel said it’s like “Scrooge McDuck is Jesus Christ and Huey, Dewey, and Louie are Gabriel, Raphael, and Uriel and Daisy is Mary Magdalene and that’s why women voting has lowered American sperm count.”
I feel like the answer is they thought, “This is all dumb and beneath me.” They didn’t understand there was a big difference between Christian sects that make clergy get Mdivs and those that just let anyone plant and start a church
