NEW @motherjones.com: Nobody in that GOP group chat praising Hitler or making racist comments was a “kid,” as JD Vance claimed today

I tracked down their ages. (Weirdly, it seems nobody else did.)

Eight of the 11 in the group chat range from 24 to 35. Ages of others are unclear.

But… no “kids”!
No one in the GOP Hitler chat was a "kid"
We checked. Sorry, JD Vance.

Apropos of nothing, once the President of the United States confirms covert CIA operations in a country… say, Venezuela, those operations are no longer covert.

And it puts CIA officers at significantly more risk.

"a memorandum expanding his administration’s authority"

The phrasing you're looking for is that he's suspending parts of the Constitution by decree.
nytimes.com
President Trump on Wednesday signed a memorandum expanding his administration’s authority to repurpose unspent federal funds to pay members of the military during the government shutdown, escalating his challenge to the authority of Congress on spending matters.
Trump Signs Memo Expanding His Authority to Spend Federal Money
The president gave Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth wide authority to repurpose funds to pay members of the military without approval from Congress, which has the sole constitutional authority to decide federal spending.

Gah! It's all so stupid...unless, of course, if the whole point is to destroy the US. If so, then it's going swimmingly.

“Not going to be great” is quite the understatement by Fox here.
Tweet by FactPost (@factpostnews) reading: “Fox: The tariffs, 10% for lumber, 25% for cabinets, vanities, upholstered furniture. On January 1st, the tariff for cabinets and vanities increase to 50%, all the rest of the furniture to 30%. The cost of building materials has increased 34%. There is a concern that this is not going to be great for the home buying industry.” Below is a Fox Business screenshot showing a reporter in a lumber workshop with the headline “New tariffs on furniture & lumber take effect.”

I listen to them for clips of news, but not their commentary. It's a quick way to get the tidbits I might miss. I consume enough regular media to know which is fact and which is wishful hyperbole. I'd already blocked Occupy Democrats years ago bc of the theft & stuff.

He's so good at this. I hope that Democrats can learn something from his example.

The switch to good old Obamacare bashing feels like an acknowledgment that unfounded claims about Dems giving free insurance to “illegal aliens” and bailing out insurance companies haven’t quite won over the public.
There’s Something Weirdly Familiar About This New GOP Argument
Republicans’ latest attempt to win the shutdown fight shows they still don’t get it on Obamacare.

very funny that JD Vance has so little to do with his time that he goes on podcasts to defend 30-year-old men for saying how much they love Hitler
atrupar.com
JD Vance dismisses Young Republicans who in a group chat said "I love Hitler" and joked about slavery and rape as "a bunch of kids" who "told stupid jokes" and adds that "most of the stupid things I did when I was a teenager and young adult, they're not on the internet."

“The Defense Department has confiscated the badges of the Pentagon reporters from virtually every major media organization in America,” the Pentagon Press Association said

Oct. 15, 2025
PENTAGON PRESS ASSOCIATION
STATEMENT
Today, the Defense Department confiscated the badges of the Pentagon reporters from virtually every major media organization in America. It did this because reporters would not sign onto a new media policy over its implicit threat of criminalizing national security reporting and exposing those who sign it to potential prosecution.
The Pentagon Press Association's members are still committed to reporting on the U.S. military. But make no mistake, today, Oct. 15, 2025 is a dark day for press freedom that raises concerns about a weakening U.S. commitment to transparency in governance, to public accountability at the Pentagon and to free speech for all.

Here are the grown “kids”. That one guy looks late 40’s. These are the Hitler lovers.
Vermont state senator Sam Douglass. Bland white guy with glasses and beard. Brown hair. Man in poorly fitting dark suit with glasses and dark hair. Yes he’s white. William Hendrix who is the communications assistant to vile Kris Kobach, Kansas AG. Bobby Walker, dark hair and dressed exactly like trump. Not a kid at all. He’s vice chair of New York State young republicans. I guess young means under 50. Peter Giunta looks like he’s in his 40’s. I don’t know his age. Also dressed like trump in an ill-fitting suit. He has one of the worst combovers I’ve ever seen. Beard and mustache. He’s the chair of the NY state young republicans. He looks like the type of guy that looks through your windows at night.

Boom! Who’s winning the shutdown debate? THE ACA.

More Republicans than Democrats use the ACA marketplace. So the GOP’s base is relying on the same program their party is causing premiums to skyrocket.

45% of ACA marketplace enrollees are Republicans, and most live in GOP-held districts.

Every time a Democrat gets caught on tape saying like “Some Trump voters are racist” we have a national scandal and JD Vance demands an entirely new kind of apology and meanwhile every Republican group chat is like “Good morning fellow SS members. Who’s ready to respect Hitler today?”
