Yeah ... there was that for sure. Ah well. Tomorrow will be better! Maybe!
Whichever one we use, it has to have really deep sinks.
Nah, I think I'm just dissociating!
It got worse!

* had to get the 8yo early from school due to mouth pain!
* Turns out my dog has a collapsed trachea! (She's ok, it's common among old dogs, just sucks.)
* 6yo's burn shows signs of infection—Pam had to take her to be seen by a doctor! It took all day!
This morning I:

* Changed 6yo's burn bandages
* Treated 8yo's sore jaw
* Dealt with both kids' Big Emotions
* Got kids ready for school
* Dragged the ladder out for contractor
* Washed 6yo's pissed up bed sheets
* Did the dishes
* Took dog to vet
* Made beds

And now I get to work a full day. ❤️
WHAT IF the party was held in the bathroom? Generally not a very social area of a company. TURN THAT ON ITS HEAD. I'm thinking punch in the sinks. Mistletoe in the stalls. Disco lights. Dancing. Incredible acoustics. Wow
OLIVIA BAAASH.

Dang, that font.
It's a bubble. When more workplaces realize AI can't function without human oversight, that it is often wrong, and when its costs balloon on account of it not having a sustainable business model, you're gonna see the bubble pop.

AI won't go away, it'll just be used better, like the .coms of yore.
experiencing a workplace """AI transformation""" firsthand is what has kept me sane + grounded about the whole AI "taking jobs" fear. it's just... not. it isn't capable of it.

they'll surely use it as an excuse to reduce labor, yeah, but AI is not bridging that gap. not at all.

Who Killed Jeffery Epstein? The Missing Minutes.
That's a litter box beside that TV. Insanity.
The day that keeps on giving. Had to retrieve the 8yo from school.

Elbows Up, Thumbs Down: Canada has, in a backward way, been gifted by the White House a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to not just support homegrown culture, but to strengthen and revitalize it for decades to come. And we’re *blowing* it. My long-read essay for this Saturday's @theglobeandmail.com:
Elbows up, thumbs down: Why we’re blowing a generational moment for Canadian culture
We’re checking the origins of our groceries, but where’s the love for the sector that truly defines who we are?

Pro parenting tip: whenever you find a pair of discarded kid's underwear and you're not sure if they're clean, always do the visual inspection first before the sniff test. 🤮🤮🤮

The main achievement of the tech industry has been increasing the flow of money from people who make or do things to people who already have more money than they could spend in a hundred lifetimes
“Average musician makes $12 a month on Spotify. The fact that they are not even able to sell a record and it’s taken from them by rich motherfuckers on streaming platforms who get paid royally by record labels,Ticketmaster, merch companies. They’re all fucking getting paid, except for the musician.”

Not sustainable
“By 2035, data centers globally are projected to use about as much electricity as India…according to the International Energy Agency. A single data center can also use more than 500,000 gallons of water a day, nearly as much as an Olympic-size swimming pool.”
