Why aren’t the Democrats holding daily news conferences?
Johnson: That is not the principles of the Republican Party. You want me to articulate them? We fought the Nazis, we defended that evil ideology.
By his timeline he was a “kid” when he wrote his shitty book.

These 30/40 year olds are kids but Michael Brown and Tamir Rice were men.

This country is so exhausting.
Vance on public outrage over the "I love Hitler" group chat: "Grow up! Focus on the real issues. Don't focus on what kids say in group chats... The reality is that kids do stupid things, especially young boys — they tell edgy, offensive jokes. That's what kids do."
She lives rent free in Republican heads.

All of this, in violation of the Constitution.
Trump and Vought are now breaking both sides of spending law. They’re illegally not spending where the law requires them to spend, and they’re illegally spending where they don’t have the money to spend.

What we have is an appropriations king.

Spending “deals” are meaningless under that setup.

Roberts has always felt that the suggestion that white people might discriminate on the basis of race is a profound moral injustice, much greater than black people being denied the right to vote bsky.app/profile/jayw...
Everything about John Roberts's approach to the Voting Rights Act makes sense when you remember that John Roberts has has always been hostile to the Voting Rights Act, never believed it was appropriate, and has spent most of his 45-year legal career working to hollow it out.
One of the Biggest Cases of the Supreme Court’s Term Is John Roberts’ Decadeslong Pet Project
If there’s one thing the Roberts court has been consistent on, it’s this.

The 1st sentence: “It’s difficult to succinctly explain how extreme and extraordinary President Donald Trump’s actions as president have been.”

No, it’s not: “Like a 3rd-world, dictator, President Trump is marshaling all branches of the government to execute war on the American people.”

Demagogic president seizes money to pay standing army, arrogating to himself legislative power, while his cronies keep Congress out of session is honestly more or less exactly how the Founders thought this would end
Like Trump, I recently took a cognitive test.

Like Trump, I said, “I had a perfect score. And one of the doctors said he’s almost never seen a perfect score. I had a perfect score. I had the highest score. And that made me feel good.”

Then the doctor patted me on the hand and gave me a lollipop.
Can’t wait for “rescinding a mandate” becomes the most commonly used phrase in national political stories in 2029.
So Vance was “a kid” when he wrote Hillbilly Elegy, so we shouldn’t pay any attention to what crap he wrote.
NEW @motherjones.com: Nobody in that GOP group chat praising Hitler or making racist comments was a “kid,” as JD Vance claimed today

I tracked down their ages. (Weirdly, it seems nobody else did.)

Eight of the 11 in the group chat range from 24 to 35. Ages of others are unclear.

But… no “kids”!
No one in the GOP Hitler chat was a "kid"
We checked. Sorry, JD Vance.

I bet you see them turning over tables, throwing money changers out of the temple and saying, “It is written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer,' but you have made it a den of robbers.”

Oh wait. That was someone else.
Mike Johnson on the No Kings Protests: “The Hate America rally that'll happen Saturday…I bet you see pro-Hamas supporters. I bet you you see Antifa types. I bet you see the Marxist in full display, the people who don't want to stand and defend the foundational truths of this republic.”

"We're not cancelling kids because they did something stupid" -- the guy who wants to rescind visas for students who criticize Israel or weren't lavishing praise on Charlie Kirk

Also, we aren't talking about kids. This isn't High School Republicans or even College Republicans.
JD Vance when people makes jokes about Charlie Kirk: "call their employer."

JD Vance when Republican staffers say "I love Hitler" and fantasize about throwing political opponents in gas chambers: "that's what kids do...we're not canceling kids because they did something stupid."
1,2,3 or 4 as long as Taylor Swift and Beyounce say, "We're with you. Let's walk down Pennsylvania Avenue and take back our country."
But not before he interrupts the proceedings and speaks to one of the justices.
Racism is a feature of this version of the GOP.

"One party only needs 44% of the national popular vote to maintain control over the legislature" sure is a statement about the state of American democracy

"A number of Hatch Act complaints have been filed against cabinet secretaries and agencies posting partisan messages. But Hatch Act violations are investigated by the Office of Special Council in the White House, so they’re ending up in the circular file."
