The Alabamafication of Amerikkka
My column this week. Keep an eye on this Alabama constitutional amendment that would prevent naturalized citizens from holding most state offices. It feels like it has a much bigger target in its sights: the due process provisions of the 14th Amendment.
This Alabama bill targets immigrants. And the 14th Amendment. | Alabama Reflector
A proposed constitutional amendment backed by Secretary of State Wes Allen could provide another way to attack citizenship and due process.

And again, a pattern of putting out statements accusing people of serious Federal crimes and then releasing them hours or days or weeks later with no charges. And no retraction.
NEWS: Federal agents crashed with woman’s car, pointed guns at her, dragged her out by legs, tossed her in a minivan, held her and (eventually) let her go without charges. This as Chicagoans say the immigration blitz is out of control. (DHS blames her.)

NEW: 12 Mississippi polling places have moved and 4 have been closed ahead of the Nov. 4 legislative special elections, an MFP investigation finds.

Counties also have incorrect addresses in the state system for 11 polling places, risking sending some voters to the wrong location.

In the same way that Speaker Johnson & MAGA Republicans never seem to have read/seen/heard about/been notified of anything that Trump says, Tweets, or even what he does, now Trump himself has not read/seen/heard about/been notified of HIS OWN ACTIONS. Even to himself, he is Schrödinger's President.
O'DONNELL: Why did you pardon Changpeng Zhao?

TRUMP: Are you ready? I don't know who he is

O'DONNELL: His crypto exchange Binance helped facilitate a $2b purchase of World Liberty Financial's stablecoin. And they you pardoned him.

TRUMP: Here's the thing -- I know nothing about it

The transcript is unreadable. Nora O'Donnell has absolutely no control over the interview. She doesn't push back, she can barely ask her questions and she sure can't shut him up. Sadly, the people who need to hear how incoherent he is don't read so he's safe from it coming back to bite him.

Sunny, a yellow lab belonging to a 93-year-old man, went missing in a nature preserve in Los Angeles.

To get her back, volunteers filled traps with food they knew Sunny couldn’t resist: homemade meatballs, kielbasa and rotisserie chicken.
