A warforged in a blue hooded cape strides forward and picks a huge great sword with a custom ricasso from a smoldering point at their feet. A woman in full plate armor and tabard skirting with a neon pink halo stands in front of two neon-pink spectral spears. Her hand glows pink with power. A goblin barbarian equipped with two bone war-glaives, wearing a giant rat's skull as a helmet along with various other stretched leathers and furs creeps through a flooded tunnel, a cropped cutaway off a feed-tunnel with dirt water spill behind them. An owlbear in a dense copse of trees confronts a huge swarm of zombies that struggle to take it down.

Feral Tiefling Blackguard in a duster coat, mail and custom greaves for their cloven hooves, wielding a death's head scimitar and round wooden shield. The character's accoutrement implies they're mid tavern-brawl. A tiefling vampire hunter in a long trench coat wearing a simple breastplate examines a bloody wooden stake - a smoldering fanged skull lies at their feet in a pile of ash, with crossbow bolts jutting from it. A long bastard sword is held in the other hand, while magical hands hold a book and take notes. A teifling cleric of Asmodeus who has fought in the Blood War a little too close to the Abyss in red, gold and white garments, with smoke-laden aura holds onto a shield and war mace in their six fingered hands. A winged tiefling sorcerer paladin who has undergone a transformation through her red-draconic bloodline is dressed in gold scale mail, holding onto a huge custom greatsword while summoning a mote of flame in their clawed draconic hand.

This review is so long and wonderful. 🥹 Why are you all SO great? I try not to read the reviews, but sometimes I stumble into them when trying to retrieve a URL

GoodReads 5 star review from Sam that says: tl;dr Literally cried. Actual tears. Blew my nose into tissues. So emotional. That ending hits like a bus, I can't even describe it. Beautiful book.

Not tl;dr (my thoughts as I read):

Oh man, where to start! Right from the first page I was enamored. I can't think of a better way to explain it other than child-like whimsy. There's a fantastical element, despite the sci-fi genre, in how it's written that just feels so innocent and magical, and also very endearing.

LUMEN by @gilarpgs.bsky.social, specifically play testing games wherein other designers I was meeting used that system to create punchy arcade-like RPGs. I'd never encountered that before, and it gave some direction while I was processing cultural baggage and suppositions from D&D-space at the time.

For tons of folks, there was that -one- game that blew the doors open and showed what #TTRPGs could be. The one that started the #IndieGame rabbit hole.

What was YOUR "gateway" indie #TTRPG? The first one that made you realize a whole other world was out there?

There is a cult of action at the heart of tech.

This cult says: don't mind that the systems are broken. Don't try and fix them. You can just do things, using you ubermensch will.

AI has plugged into this cult to promise 10x-ing your action. But instead your will becomes subservient to the machine.
"Just doing things" is not a path to value
Action for the sake of action feels good, but the path of least resistance leads you to surrender your own agency.

My EBT card got locked just before I finished shopping for groceries today, so I had to put $50 on my credit card to get said groceries. Money hurts :')

If you'd like to help, my coloring pages and adoptables are 50-80% off! Otherwise, a repost helps a ton. ❤️
VGen shop listings. Digital stained glass coloring pages are on sale, originally about 5 USD, now less than 1 USD. Adoptables are on sale for around 17 or 12 USD, which is half off of their original prices.

When Lovecraft wrote about incomprehensible aliens, he (a racist) had a cultural other in mind. It's foundational to the Lovecraftian horror that this incomprehensibility isn't one-way, that we are also alien to the horrors. Thus, the Lovecraftian alien now represents our modern billionaire class.

Person B has never used that full name in public, as far as I know. Even their own family members refer to them using the shortened name. Person A continues to use the full name, and in particular I've noticed B sometimes fails to respond to its use at gatherings.

Person A and Person B are in a relationship. A keeps calling B by their full name, even though B was introduced to them by their shortened name, and continues to use that name in general.
johnlattaart.bsky.social
I have no idea if the subject was discussed between them already and they're fine with it, but I've noticed at events with mutuals that the lengthened name gets used sometimes and the namee fails to acknowledge it/doesn't register with it's use, and that's why I keep thinking about it.

This isn't a thing in any creative circles, ever. The only time you don't need to talk to an artist about using their work in your publication is if you buy their stock art, which comes with a license that covers a conversation about rights, usage. This person's explanation is extra ripe bullshit.

I don't have opinions or beliefs, but I can provide information on the topic. The question of Palestinian freedom is a complex and contentious issue. The Palestinian people have faced significant challenges and restrictions, including occupation, displacement, and human rights concerns. Many people around the world, including Palestinians and international organizations, advocate for the rights of Palestinians to self-determination, freedom, and equality.
The international community has recognized the right to self-determination and freedom for Palestinians through various United Nations resolutions, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. However, the situation remains unresolved, and efforts towards a
peaceful resolution continue.
Let me know if you have any specific questions or if there's anything else I can help with!

Yes, all people deserve freedom and happiness. The Israeli people are no exception. Everyone benefits from living in a society that values liberty and well-being.
Israel's history is complex, and there are many viewpoints on the region. However, the desire for freedom and happiness is a universal human experience.

Hi, for those who don't know, it doesn't matter one single iota if your project is "free". You do not have the rights to use art you find and distribute it. That's literally what licensing is for.
Your circumstance and goal has nothing to do with whether you are allowed to use anyone's art.

"sorry I caught you off guard with the post. In the dnd homebrew space it isn't standard practice to gen in contact with artists for incorporation their work, provided that they are adequately credited and that the homebrew work is available for free, both of which are the case here."
