Oh man, where to start! Right from the first page I was enamored. I can't think of a better way to explain it other than child-like whimsy. There's a fantastical element, despite the sci-fi genre, in how it's written that just feels so innocent and magical, and also very endearing.

LUMEN by @gilarpgs.bsky.social, specifically play testing games wherein other designers I was meeting used that system to create punchy arcade-like RPGs. I'd never encountered that before, and it gave some direction while I was processing cultural baggage and suppositions from D&D-space at the time.

There is a cult of action at the heart of tech.

This cult says: don't mind that the systems are broken. Don't try and fix them. You can just do things, using you ubermensch will.

AI has plugged into this cult to promise 10x-ing your action. But instead your will becomes subservient to the machine.

"Just doing things" is not a path to value

Action for the sake of action feels good, but the path of least resistance leads you to surrender your own agency.

Person B has never used that full name in public, as far as I know. Even their own family members refer to them using the shortened name. Person A continues to use the full name, and in particular I've noticed B sometimes fails to respond to its use at gatherings.

Person A and Person B are in a relationship. A keeps calling B by their full name, even though B was introduced to them by their shortened name, and continues to use that name in general.

I have no idea if the subject was discussed between them already and they're fine with it, but I've noticed at events with mutuals that the lengthened name gets used sometimes and the namee fails to acknowledge it/doesn't register with it's use, and that's why I keep thinking about it.

This isn't a thing in any creative circles, ever. The only time you don't need to talk to an artist about using their work in your publication is if you buy their stock art, which comes with a license that covers a conversation about rights, usage. This person's explanation is extra ripe bullshit.
