You can read the intro to Your Own Dark Shadow, in which I discuss a time I got haunted and wax philosophical about horror, on the Tramp Press website:

Reminded of the one bit from "Hot Tub Time Machine" that made me actually lol:

"Are you on Facebook? Snapchat? ...Bebo?"

"I don't know what you're saying."

"How will I find you later?"

"I dunno, just look for me."

"That sounds exhausting."

If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.
Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?
2? Questions
I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

The first time I submitted to them, I got a rejection email in 8 hours; the second time, it was 9.5. Will this one survive longer than 10?

What's got two thumbs and just submitted a story to The Dark for the laugh?

The replies section under the Clare/Limerick EuroPride announcement rn:
An image of an angry white man crying and clenching his teeth, with an empty speech balloon above his head (to mock whatever angry post happens to be above it)

Stella O'Malley (7 years experience of well-funded anti-trans rhetoric) & Genspect (4 years of well-funded anti-trans advocacy) have taken legal action against 70-year-old Leonie O'Dowd (40+ years experience of counselling & supporting trans people) to shut her up. www.the-case.eu/latest/slapp...

Not to be whiny, but I would really like for something good to happen. On a personal level. On a national level. On a global level. One of all three.

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

Absolutely vile.

Not that I want to overload the fine people at @booksupstairs.bsky.social with work at this fraught moment, but consider sending some business their way to show support.

The first season of "Dark Winds" is on Netflix, and it's great. Check it out if you like whodunnits/crime stories; you won't be disappointed. I hope the other seasons are added soon.

You might not want to hear this but
*tepid non-controversial take*
and I don't care who hears me say it.

You have to speak up about the important things like
*nearly universally accepted pop culture phenomenon*

I might get shadow-banned for saying it, but
*the thing everybody's already said today*

It should go without saying, of course, that material circumstances and social awkwardness are not important to this equation. The only true losers here are the ones who fall for it and join up, and they can stop being losers by leaving that shite behind.
