Not to mention when insurance denies claim, the workers is now hurt, out of a job, and isn't getting anything taken care. It's overwhelming for anyone but it's worse when your 75 or don't speak English and dont have a strong support structure in place

workers comp plaintiffs work is traditionally done on % of settlement so that isn't a problem. some problems are that they get hurt and don't know their rights, and that they get hurt but can't afford to stay afloat on temporary disability checks that are irregular and not always right

Open and free standards >>>>>> then everything else and DoD moving away from it in the ‘90’s was a mistake and an actual neoliberal policy that has demonstrably harmed the American defense industry.

The flip side of this is that government owned code is a nightmare. The UARCs build things that are somehow worse and they lie about cost, schedule, and performance just as much.

sitting and chatting with a civilian whose only purpose at the moment was to save a seat for a 3-star. Upon arrival, the 3-star was preceded by an aide who walked up, tapped the woman on the shoulder and the way she just stopped mid sentence, got up, and walked away with the aide was Pavlovian.

Thinking of the most vulnerable people in the worker's comp system, and imho its seniors and ESL folks. I'm not sure how best to structurally help them.

This is not a joke. This is a serious introduction to a wonderful opportunity for artists of all stripes, the city of San Francisco, and visitors from around the world. Check it out, read the article, and maybe throw a fiver in the donation bucket!

"In an era when it’s exceedingly hard to learn what the Old Masters knew, Art + Water will impart those skills. These emerging artists must know how to draw, and from there, they’ll be taught everything Rembrandt was taught." - Dave Eggers

I remember listening to this song as a kid, and wondering what the hype about California was, because I was living there. I had never been to LA but I was always confused that California had a grip on other peoples psyche

Plane watching is fun. I live in a major crossover for flight paths and sometimes I go Outside and get boozed up and yell at planes with my buddies at night

No you don't understand, none of the modern American BB's were taken out of action by planes. with 80k tons you have 2x the displacement to put anti aircraft guns and fire control on

They had been building cruiser subs carrying airplanes since the 20s. In the late war they were building class I-400, able to carry 3 float planes, in order to bomb targets in the Americas. Three were finished and on their way to bomb the Panama Canal when the war ended.

Having to compel discovery is ridiculous. Like just produce the docs and answer some questions. This isn't a freaking mob case, it's workers comp.
