Hi! I’m Hannah! I have 2 poetry chapbooks and write a lot about sad dad jew stuff, internet culture, and the failures of institutional poetry/presses. Also I love cats.

Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?

I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

SIMON: I don't think Al can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level.

If a press is asking for money to read your work, they should be transparent where that money goes. If they get grants, donations, financial support, that should be disclosed, too.
