During Thanksgiving and holidays, people want to do food drives where they collect canned goods etc... and I really would love to offer that food banks need MONEY so if you can collect and donate MONEY please do that. They can then use those funds to purchase what's needed AT DISCOUNTS.

There's no reason for non-US citizens to come to study in the U.S. at this time. This is especially true for college-aged young people. Why would you take that risk? It's unnecessary.

If you're already here, you do what you need to do and then you head for the exits.

I’m extremely glad i was able to complete my degrees in the US before all this. As a teacher, I discouraged all my students from applying to go there for a post grad. I was terrified that the kind of organizing I was involved in or nothing at all would see them deported or imprisoned in El Salvador.

talking to him more, it's not that his parents are REFUSING to help him get the food, it's that they're literally cognitively impaired from their own pre-existing disabilities + probably having gotten covid a couple times: they get food for him at the store, but it's not exactly what he requested.

2/ your lack of consent is particularly true with regards to KIDS who often have no say in how grown-ups act around them. assuming you’re not infected is not good enough. you may feel perfectly fine and still be contagious.
