I have been a reporter for close to 40 years, including stints covering police and the courts. This thing, from the president down, of accusing people of crimes when not charged: That did not used to be a thing. Authorities don’t do that because it is unfair and leads to cases being tossed.

Pet owners are refusing rabies vaccines because of ‘pawtism’ fears. Anti-vax conspiracies have gone so far off the rails they’re endangering dogs. Rabies is 100% fatal once symptoms start. Misinformation is spreading faster than the viruses these days.
