Your near-daily reminder that newspapers have business reporters, not labor reporters. www.startribune.com/a-new-kind-o...
Text with the word “hardship” is highlighted: Rising costs of food, rent and labor, which trickle down to menu prices, are turning off customers, restaurateurs are finding. The hardship is even starker within Minneapolis city limits, where the minimum wage is higher than in neighboring suburbs, and bigger government offices make navigating licenses, permits and

Analysts say authoritarians and their students fear science in part because its feats - unlocking the universe, ending plagues, saving millions of lives - can form bonds of public trust that rival or exceed their own.
"Science is a source of social power" said Daniel Treisman, a political scientist at the University of California, Los Angeles.
"It always poses a potential threat."

AOC: And they are able to radicalize a generation of young boys in particular, away from healthy masculinity and into an insecure masculinity that requires the domination of others who are poorer, browner, darker, or a different gender than them.

Just before that, another Conservative MP posted that “Canada must now place restrictions on birthright citizenship”
If it all sounds a bit Trump-y, that’s probably because…it is:

“This bike lane is in danger, not a danger.”

New campaign signs from Projet Montréal highlighting the opposition Ensemble Montréal’s promise to “audit” the bike network and consider removing some routes.

Clearly concerned more about space for cars than actual safety.

Sigh.

It would be nice if the national broadcaster would acknowledge that I spent 8 months working on a story they re-report as a one-off.

Whatever.
