I may not you follow back. It's not personal. I have a day job. I'm here for what interests me, and my time is limited. I never follow if there's no profile, or no posts, or only sex pics, or if it's clear the intent is to sell porn or ask for charity - I do give to my preferred charities.

I pledge to sext only with adult humans, moreover my sexting will be artisanal, small batch and produced under the highest ethical production standards, that said, some images may be edited to increase contrast, correct lens distortion and heighten curb appeal

I am traveling to two different cities on entirely different sides of the country over the next few days, surely they will have differing weather

(checks forecasts)

Aaaaaaaand literally exactly the same weather

My desktop is a PC, my laptops are Mac, I have an iPad and a Google tablet and my phone is a Pixel, I guess you could say I swing all the ways

(Linux is asexual, which is cool if you like that)

I always assumed the ongoing debate over Mac vs PC is based off of which one fucks better

I had a Google Pixelbook, 2017 vintage, and it was one of my favorite laptops ever, but it doesn't work especially well any more. I do have a Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5, but I use it more as a tablet than a laptop.

I could swear I remember you using a Chromebook a few years back. Get tired of it? Or am I just misremembering?

If there were no promotional upside to them my publisher wouldn't book them, so, no, probably not, they're expensive.

Also, I'm at the airport again, off to San Francisco and then Burlington, VT. Wheeeeeeeeee!

On tour, usually not, there's not enough time. When I'm doing festivals, sometimes, depending. Although sometimes I just feel like doing nothing in my hotel room all day long; travel is exhausting.

Do you get to see anything of the cities you tour? Aside from the airport?

Book festivals/conventions happen when they happen and the ones that invite me when I also have a new book to promote are not always geographically convenient to each other. It is what it is.
clypheous.com
Is there no way to plan appearances in a way that makes slightly more geographic sense? It seems like if you started on one side of the country and worked your way across you would have less time spent in transit. Is it that while traveling by plane distance doesn't make all that much difference?

You would be perfect to cameo on the upcoming Star Trek: Starfleet Academy - maybe a substitute instructor on "Redshirt Protocol" - and how to avoid away missions?

I'm not nearly famous enough to be asked to cameo on film/TV/animation. Any cameo I did would just come across as a standard extra given a line. Heck, my "cameo" on Stargate Universe was someone holding up one of my books.

Random tangent.. Saw Bill Nye guest voice a recent Futurama. Ever do stuff like that?

Would you, if they asked? Or maybe something like random alien #3, a la Mick Fleetwood on Star Trek?

SCIENCE POLICY NEWS:

During Yom Kippur, all the members of the High Energy Physics Advisory Committee (HEPAP), myself included, received a letter thanking us for our service and telling us essentially that the almost 40 yo standing federal advisory committee was no more. ⚛️🧪🔭

Why that matters 🧵
DOE Consolidates Office of Science Advisory Committees
Six long-standing committees advising the Department of Energy’s Office of Science have been rolled into one.

JD Vance says the “I LOVE HITLER” Republican leaks are no big deal because it’s “kids in chat rooms.” In reality these are young Republican leaders likely to gain more power in a hypothetical future Vance administration. Terrifying stuff.

Trump admin officials (Bessent, Sean Duffy) are desperately trying to suppress turnout at the No Kings protests this Saturday by scaring people about repercussions. It would really upset Trump for there to be huge turnout.

If you're at a hub, particularly ORD or ATL or DFW, the chance is small but not zero. I have been randomly spotted! That said, I didn't have a distinctive face and also I tend to hide out in the airport lounges, so you'd probably miss me more often than not even if we're there simultaneously.
I wonder what the probability of seeing you in any given airport is on any given day? As much as you travel the odds must be higher than the lottary at least!

I was at the TSA for Dayton, which means that I got through in about 2 minutes. It's holding up fine. No annoying Kristi Noem videos.

As a former distance runner before spinal problems, I can attest to the results of extreme dehydration - pass out in the shower after 20 miles in 90 degree weather - nice nurses and doctors in the ER. Met my current doctor there.

I only practice this on flights shorter than 3 hours. On international flights 7+ hours - I will pay extra for an aisle seat within 3 rows of the toilets.

When is a coup not a coup but is really a coup? When the president of the United States threatens to bankrupt a sovereign nation (Argentina) unless the electorate returns his hand-picked crony candidate to power.
