Those places don’t even need to actually be socialist, even the slightest bit of Keynesian redistributive policies or whatever is seen as a direct threat to global capital that requires imperialist state intervention to stop it in some capacity.

Meanwhile they have to do the exact opposite with sanctions (not to mention coup attempts, mass murder campaigns, covert operations, soft power, etc.) to try and destabilize/destroy places like Cuba, Chile, Indonesia, Venezuela, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Honduras, etc.

It actually rules that they’re giving us the most explicit example of the failure of “free” markets and the necessity of state intervention to prop them up. This has always been pretty plainly the case when you look at it, but they’re just putting it all out there.

Each one has one or two good segments but overall don’t stand up as a whole. 94 is probably the best one overall. The sci-fi one from a year or two has my favourite segment of the whole series (the Kate Siegel one, Stowaway).
