$The military also released for the first time figures on the cost of providing gender-affirming medical care for trans troops. They show that since 2015, when trans troops were first allowed to serve openly, the military has spent $52 million on their care, including psychotherapy, hormone therapy and surgery, or about $9,000 per trans service member. I used to hang out at the mall in ~2015 and talk to people that seemed friendly in a crowded area where our voices would carry. People who strongly identify as "conservative" are often not as rigid in thought as one might believe. We often had spectators & people would wait their turn & then engage.

This particular flavor can be turned against others, of course, but it also has the potential to lead to strong in-group cohesion and the competitive aspect can be downplayed over time instead. I think you're using a very effective strategy & we should be teaching others how to use these techniques.

UPDATE: As of 10/11/25, Newsom has signed AB 727 providing LGBTQ+ suicide hotline numbers on student IDs, and AB 678 which orders a study on how to reduce anti-LGBTQ+ discrimination in homelessness programs.

Eight other bills are still pending.

I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.
