Another display deck at The Hangar got a bit of re-arrangement yesterday. The Canadian 🇨🇦 section now has a couple of more early jets added. (The maintenance crew wore themselves out with all that maneuvering in this tight space.) - Cheers 🍻 #ModelAircraft

Fairey Flycatcher stationed at HMS Hermes, China Station, 1930. This is the Armory Model Group kit in 1:48, with a hand carved prop and wood decals by ProperPlane of #Ukraine. All upstaged by a couple of cheeky seagulls.

Matte varnish went down yesterday so got to unmask the clear parts today and I've had the same problem with the primer & top coat coming away from the cockpit 🤦
Started on the 1/72 Autocar 4x4 Tractor while waiting for things to dry.

Unlike the landing gear bay, the landing gear is quite detailed for this model and looks quite nice. WIth a copper wire inside, it is also quite sturdy and solid enough to hold the model. #archive #papercraft #FW190 #scalemodel #histscalemodels
A front view of the model with the completed landing gear, including the covers. A view of the landing gear with the covers attached to it. A detailed view of the landing gear. A top-right view of the model standing on its new landing gear. The landing gear consists just of the wheel and the frame, but the cover is not in place yet.

The KC-135A now has its wings on. See alt text for more info. Next: those dreaded intake covers... #HeaviesGB #histscalemodels
1/72 KC-135A model in progress with a BAe Hawk model for scale comparison. Because the wings have greater (and thus correct) dihedral than the kit allows for, I had to remove a few mm of the inboard wing, a bit more than needed, to give myself a little wriggle room in attaching the wings to the fuselage, leaving a couple of gaps, some pretty wide. Those gaps have been filled with plastic scraps.

REME Museum model show today. I was quite taken by the Typhoon restoration layout, with 1/24 box files on the 1/24 shelves. Plenty of Scammells, too, and a Quatermass rocket.
#HistScaleModels
A 1/24 model diorama of a Hawker Typhoon under restoration in a workshop. The wings are off, and one of them is in a jig. A diorama of a Scammell Pioneer recovery vehicle winching another vehicle out of a ditch in a desert A model of a Quatermass Royal Space Force rocket A scratch built 1/72 Bristol racer. It is very red.

Aye, the Buccaneer is one of the few aircraft along with the Nimrod can walk its own plank.😅

Revell 1/72 Hurricane Mk.IIc of 28 squadron of RAF SEAC Dalbumghar North East India 1944. Not a bad kit, not a brilliant kit, but it very much looks like a Hurricane.

Completed the wings and the wing fillets. As with the rest of the model, the wings are relatively simple, and many details are just painted on them. Though the texture is very nice, the color tones sadly do not always fit. #archive #papercraft #FW190 #scalemodel #histscalemodels
A detailed view of the bottom of the wings. You can see the landing bay painted on the wings, and also one of the spots where the wing fillet has a significantly different color tone than the rest of the plan - though it should not. A closer look at the wing fillets. A top view of the model with the wings. The wings are relatively simple, from a few pieces of paper, but with very nice textures.

I managed to finish this up with my left hand (kinda ambidextrous). Not my magnum opus perhaps but I like the variation in the OD. So that's the #HeaviesGB finished for me.

The "Plane on a Pole" really adds to the effect of a Seafaring Buccaneer - Nice work 👏
