(uspol) if last year you said "if unitary executive theory is true, can't the president just order the government to give him hundreds of millions of dollars?" you'd be told by Very Serious People that you were being ridiculous and to focus on things that could actually happen
Trump promised he would not tear down the East Wing to build his garish vanity project. But that’s what he’s doing right now. Another in the litany of “promises made, promises broken.”

The legacy of the Roberts court will be racism, misogyny, and corruption. If we ever make it out of this fascist regime, the next person to hold the presidency needs to be willing to pack the court. The court needs to be expanded to at least 13 justices.
Since John Roberts and Brett Kavanaugh are so desperate for a time limit on race-conscious remedies to systemic racism and they're itching to sunset the Voting Rights Act, well I give my permission. They can do it—in the year 2299.

Until then, shut the hell up.

My latest on Louisiana v. Callais:
Supreme Court Conservatives Are Tired of Hearing About Racism. Guess What? Me Too.
Will the Supreme Court and Chief Justice John Roberts finally completely gut the Voting Rights Act in Louisiana v. Callais?

Trump and the MAGA Party have shut down the government for the express purpose of preventing Americans from having affordable health care.

But there’s $20 billion in the couch cushions to bail out Argentina.

Make that make sense.
Foreign autocrats first, America last. Make Dictators Great Again!
1. The Trump administration quietly DOUBLED the bailout of Argentina from $20 BILLION to $40 BILLION

Here is what is really happening
UPDATE: Taxpayer bailout of Argentina may grow to $40 billion
The bailout, which Trump admitted is of little benefit to Americans, keeps getting bigger.

It's January 2029. Vice President JD Vance refuses to certify that a Democrat won the presidential election. Democrats sue under the Electoral Count Reform Act. The Supreme Court says that act is unconstitutional and finds a way to conclude the vice president can unilaterally decide the election.
We're getting to (or are already at) that point where someone has to make Congress do what prior Congresses have done as a matter of course. "Yeah, we know she was duly elected in an election certified by the state ... but we're not going to swear her in because we don't like her. Who will stop us?"

"I don't know anything about that so I'm afraid I can't comment."

--Speaker Mike Johnson, repeatedly
There's dumb, and then there's whatever Lindsey Halligan is. Initiating a text exchange with a reporter for no apparent reason, and then after spilling your guts for 33 hours about ongoing criminal prosecutions, suggesting for the first time the entire correspondence was off the record.
The grift never ends. It is beyond crystal clear that Trump sees the presidency as a profit center for himself personally, whether he's directing taxpayers' money to his own personal pocket or whether he's using his government influence to get personal deals.

Wait, you mean all these problems weren’t solved with Trump’s election? Well surely posting trollish, anti-democracy memes on the media platform he owns will make things better
New AP/NORC poll finds:

- 47% of U.S. adults are “not very” or “not at all confident” they could find a good job if they wanted to

- 36% say electricity bills are a "major" source of stress; 50% say the same about grocery prices

How Americans are feeling about their chances on the job market, according to an AP-NORC poll
Americans are increasingly worried about their ability to find a good job under President Donald Trump.

It’s very cool and very legal for the US president to summarily murder foreign citizens, then lie about it, then punish anyone who dares to point out he’s just straight up murdering people for no reason
“Oh, you haven’t seen it? Well I have it right here. Let’s watch it together and once you’ve seen it you’ll be able to answer my questions.”
Trump loves dictators and hates democracy. Period.

So like, the thing about edgelords is that they hide their true intent/feelings behind "jokes" to gauge response before fully committing to the bit.

He absolutely wants to be king, and he absolutely wants to punish those who won't bow before him.
For all of MAGA’s complaints about Joe Biden doing nebulous bad things, there was never any anti-Biden protest even remotely on the scale of today’s anti-Trump protests. Could it be the case Biden *didn’t* do the things MAGA claims he did? And Trump *is* doing the things Democrats claims he is?
With the government shut down because Trump doesn’t want Americans to have access to affordable health care, self-admitted puppy killer Kristi Noem has decided to spend $172 million of taxpayer money on private jets
The real "Hate America" rallies are the MAGA counter-protests where Trump bootlickers are proudly waving the Confederate flag, which is the flag of actual traitors who went to war against the United States.

I do not suggest "drink when Mike Johnson pretends not to know something" as your drinking game, as you will likely not survive
Q: What's your message to the 170 US citizens who have been detained by ICE? About 20 of them are children

MIKE JOHNSON: I don't know what you're talking about with the children. I haven't seen that so I'm not going to comment on it.
The last time I checked, ICE thugs were arresting peaceful protestors and the vaunted Republican free-speechers demanded anyone offering even the mildest criticism of Charlie Kirk had to be severely punished for their heresy
Mike Johnson: "The last time I checked, Americans have more freedom right now to express themselves and speak their minds after Republicans took over ... it is the Republicans who restored your right to share and speak your mind."
Update: MAGA Mike Johnson is using his standard maneuver of pretending he doesn’t know anything about it
One wonders what devout "Christian" MAGA Mike Johnson thinks of one of his fellow MAGA representatives blackmailing a woman with whom he was having an extramarital affair. It was probably all Biden's fault!
Even Trump-appointed judges are unwilling to accept the lies Trump is using to justify sending the national guard into American cities
For JD Vance, no amount of racism is too much
