When anyone in America talks about "socialism," the vast majority of the time they're talking about a thoroughly regulated market capitalism; our Overton Window is that far right.

Trans liberation is an economic issue insofar as it's an access to civil services issue. Healthcare is a civil service.

There's a whole "Libs vs. Socs" narrative that is being pushed hard right now specifically because the powers that be want to cleave opposition to Trump.

That's not something I'm going to play in to. As a SocDem it makes me facepalm. But I have to note my frustration with her statement as written.

I genuinely don't care if your economic politics are to the right of mine. Fine; that's a perspective anyone is entitled to.

But please don't gaslight me by saying America lives up to the Enlightenment ideal. It never has. The United States is 50 countries all trying to impede on each other.

This is a deeply frustrating statement from Ari Drennen. America absolutely does not 'venerate the freedom of an individual' to bodily autonomy. That's what the whole gods damned women's rights movement is about.

We are backsliding, and the most fortunate of us are using capital as a cover.
