No Kings Day is almost here.

The Trump regime believes that if it can overwhelm us with atrocities and threats, we'll surrender our rights without fighting for them.

But the people won’t bow down. We will rise. Join us at a peaceful protest on Saturday: www.nokings.org?SQF_SOURCE=i... #NoKings

Great letter in TC today, focused on how families with children need safe bike & roll lanes! (Note that seniors and people with disabilities also benefit from safe, smooth, bike & roll routes.) www.timescolonist.com/opinion/lett... #yyj #visionzero
Families and children need safe bike lanes

Reading the many complaint letters about bike lanes, I get it that car drivers find them frustrating. But a war on cars it is not.

Taking a little kindergarten boy to school recently, I noticed that a good many parents are using cargo bikes to take their children to school or day care, and I increasingly see them around town too.

These parents are primarily using separated bike lanes, and they need to, as regular car lanes are unsafe for these families.

Housing is so expensive, and many families have just one car, so taking advantage of the rapidly evolving and cheaper e-bikes to move their children around makes sense. And their numbers are steadily increasing.

These families need safety, just as we do in regular car lanes. Let’s learn from the Dutch.

Contrary to popular belief, bike lane construction in Holland only began in the 1970s. Like most countries, Holland was heading toward car saturation point when a study was released showing the number of car related fatalities affecting families.

The study, together with higher gas prices, galvanized the public to want to take care of their most vulnerable citizens – hence their amazing bike lane infrastructure.

Should we not also be mindful about our children? So, next time we wish to drive somewhere, let’s allow more time to get to our destination.

Slow down when passing a school zone, and when driving alongside a separated bike lane, let’s be glad to think that the youngest and most vulnerable members of our community are safer because of those lanes.

An inclusive city must also include how our families and children can get safely to and from their destinations.

And honestly, these protesters are brilliant. They’re flipping the whole authoritarian cosplay on its ass!

Most US Growth Now Rides on AI—And Economists Suspect a Bubble
Jose Antonio Lanz
Wed, October 8, 2025 at 4:30 PM CDT 5 min read

What happens when artificial intelligence becomes both the economy's primary engine and its potential Achilles' heel? We may be about to find out.

Harvard economist Jason Furman recently said that AI investments accounted for nearly 92% of U.S. GDP growth in the first half of 2025. Basically, the entire American economy put its eggs in one algorithmic basket.

The ENERGY in our big public event in downtown Kingston, Jamaica Thursday (700-800 registered plus walk-ins) was seriously off the charts. Remarkable constructive energy. An urgent call to action(I was VERY blunt!) Will it, along with media and 3 days working with local leaders, be a turning point?
